Hey all. Matt here. I am in Western New York, Buffalo area. I currently do not own a Jeep, but I have worked at a Jeep dealership for the last 7 years, and have loved Jeeps long before I could drive. I have had the fortunate opportunity to drive almost every Jeep imaginable, including some nicely modified ones. I also have had the lucky opportunity to be one of the first people in the area to drive new Jeeps when they come out, such as the 08' Liberty, 11' Grand Cherokee, and 14' Cherokee/Trailhawk.

I currently own a 2002 Nissan Xterra 4x4 stick shift. I wanted an affordable manual transmission 4x4 with low range, coming out of an auto 92' Volkswagen Jetta, and could not afford a Wrangler. My main options at the time that I was looking were the Xterra, Liberty, and Rodeo. I just happened to find the Xterra first. I love my truck a lot. It is very comperable to a 4door JK in ride and capability. I have been slowly trying to build it up for offroading, mostly armor. I try to offroad as much as I can, and the Xterra does well. I also enjoy a lot of scenic seasonal roads. However, nothing lasts forever, and I like to keep my options open for the future. For my next vehicle, I am interested in the Trailhawk, upcoming Jeepster, or possibly Wrangler pick-up.

I am very impressed with the new Cherokee. I anxiously awaited the Liberty replacement, and although I was a bit shocked at the first images of the Cherokee, it grew on me fast. Seeing it in person sold me, and it drives beautifully. It is very comfortable. I would definitely go for the Trailhawk model. This seems to be the most popular model, and the Trailhawk is the trim we sell the most of.

So while I do not have a Jeep (yet), I am very involved with the Jeep, and off road, community. I stumbled across this forum, and decided to sign up. I am very much enjoying all the great pics, and seeing Cherokees off road already. I anxiously await to see what the aftermarket does with the Cherokee, and this seems to be the best place for info. I hope to maybe wheel with some of you, someday! I am already a Black Sheep, being a Nissan wheeler in a Jeep world, so I wouldn't mind hanging with a varied crew.

Well thanks for reading! Looking forward to enjoying more great pics, new info, and maybe being a Jeep owner some day.

Matt

Welcome! It sounds like we will learn a lot from your experience too. I love my new Trailhawk ... But it has to get old before I offroad in it! I want it to stay new looking. It did great in our recent snow.

Good luck making your decision on what to buy. I think you will be happy no matter what Jeep you purchase. Jeep = FUN
