give it a while as more reputable companies start working on the KL's IFS.
From another thread: a http://jeepcherokeeclub.com/17-jeep-cherokee-reviews/24746-reveiw-oppo-jalopnik.html has an interesting take on the lift kit:

I asked the Jeep engineer what considerations were given to the aftermarket, or if it was possible to lift it? Not really. There isn't much in it, though it seems like the CV angles are low enough for it. She said a lift is possible, but it would mean…essentially…a body lift where you would drop the sub-frames away from the body to get another inch for bigger tires. Short answer: don't bother.
And here's a direct link to the review: http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/2014-jeep-cherokee-review-building-bridges-1472661058
That was a great review. It is really depressing to hear about the lift situation. However, the Liberty had similar problems. I believe we will see a body lift or quick spacer situations for the Cherokee. After a while though, more complex and full replacement suspensions I'd imagine will surface for the hardcore.

Jeep ignoring the aftermarket/more serious off roading though is what I keep noticing with the Cherokee. Always some little oddity they didn't tweak to give it more of a chance. I just can't get my head around the why. It would make sense if they weren't pushing the capabilities and off road life. But they are in every commercial.

Either way it's good to keep seeing these videos/reviews (although we really need a lot more videos/longer ones) and once the ground clearance issue can be solved I think we'll see the KL go even farther.

+1 for the ADII Limited hanging with the TH!

They discuss further in the comments, and a big lift would be a major undertaking replacing many suspension components. I think a 1" or maybe 2" is still plausible without all of that, time will tell though.
Here's an odd one. Came across this video 'review' of a Cherokee Sport. It's the FWD version, but they mention a 2" lift kit. You really only need to watch the first 25 seconds:

Those wheels look great on the white cherokee. 31's on FWD sport!? Need more information ASAP on that 2"lift

There seems to be a slight air of depression over not being able to lift the KL much. I personally don't care. I bought my TH to be moderately off-road capable with all the creature comforts i've wanted in a daily driver for a long time. Living out in the desert, if I decide I want to get really hardcore, i'll buy an old used Wrangler with the 30plus inch tires and have a ball.
I'm guessing it may have to do with the FWD version being much lower than the rest (which may be near maxed out) is how they accomplished it.

Thanks. But if this is what 55cj was refering to I'm 99.9% sure that those Are not for the 2014 Cherokee... In Autralia and England the Liberty was called Cherokee, since 2014 is not stated in the description I wouldn't go for it...

I agree but that was all I could find. Maybe @55cj can let us know if he found something different.
