Hopefully I did this right, but the intent is that this will help current and future members when thinking about lifting the KL. I plan to keep this as a live document and update as more information is available. If you see any discrepancies please let me know and I will make adjustments necessary. I am sure there are some this this one.

I also plan to add maximum tire sizes on each platform so I may need some help with that.

Do you guys think this will benefit this site or is it a lost cause?

They are a LT version or Light Truck. They are also approx 12mm tread as opposed to about 9 or 10mm tread for the D rated passenger version. I ran the E LT version with no lift and very very minor rubbing at the back edge of the front wheel well, both with and without the lift. Yes they are stiffer and a little firmer ride but the suspension foes a good job making up for it.

TIL I will eventually be giving RRO more money. A new lift kit from them with increased travel and lift? Now I wonder if I can add HazzardSky's to the lift as well.

Lift Kit & Tire Size Chart

Nothing smart *** about my reply, it is purely factual. You yourself stated you put spacers above and below the shocks.

Like I said the first time and I will say it again; if you gained no lift from it you did it wrong. Maybe the company you took it to was right and what you did will not give any lift.

If you would like to post some pics of what you did there will be many on here willing to assist, including me.

Probably not. Anything wider than 265 gets pretty close to the strut

I thought I have seen a member on here that had 265 setups.

If 265 is too big then what is my next options?

I want to get the largest tires i can fit without rubbing or cutting.

245/70r17 fits but rubs the fender liner in the front during turns. I'm fairly certain anything bigger will need trimming.

I am lifted, however from what I understand the lift doesn't help in this case as it is the width that rubs, not the height. When you are at full lock it brushes just a little... hence the shiny spot. This doesn't change one way or the other when lifting it.

Or for that matter, it shouldn't rub any more or less whether you are lifted or not.

I think some are getting caught up in the 265 part of a tire size as if that tells the whole story. Using a universal guide for tire sizing isn't accurate either.

The Duratrac 265/65-17 is 30.6in diameter. It should fit without rubbing.

My BFG M/T 265/70-17 are 31.7in diameter and definitely will not fit without triming

I suggest looking at the actual specs on the tire you are choosing rather than universal tire sizing websites. The manufacturing specs are the best place for accurate info.

What measurements besides diameter, tread width and section width should be taken into consideration for fit?

I have the 2016 75th Anniversary Edition that came stock with 18 inch rims. I kept the rims and put 255/55 18 BFG KO2s on her. No rub before the lift (which I am hoping to get installed tomorrow).

I see that only the 17 inch rims have been listed in the posted chart. Thought I would provide real life 18 inch info for you as well.

I have 18" on my limited but the stock tires (225/60R18) seem to have lot of room for much bigger tires, but I am having hard time wanted to replace my MICHELIN Premier LTX .

Anyone know how much bigger I can go not wanted to go to a 17" rim for future purchase?

255/55 18 is only 29in diameter which is half inch smaller than a stock Trailhawk tyre so should have no probs at all with or without a lift. My only concern would have been the inside egde of the tyre on suspension components due to the tyre width on the lesser offset rims (Trailhawk rims sit further out)

Largest Tire Size That Will Fit In The Spare Well

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this question. Since my TH already has a Factory 1" lift, I don't plan on lifting it anymore for consideration of my back, pertaining to getting in and out. P245/65R17 are the Factory size tires. I have read on the forum that P265/65R17s will fit with no rubbing issues, but one will not fit in the spare tire well. Thus, P255/65R17s should fit, but will one of these fit inside the spare tire well? Thanks in advance for reading.

Is there an update to the file from the first post?

So I will be honest and admit I skimmed this thread and didn't read every post in great detail....

With that being said, It bothers me that so many are responding to if a tire size will or will not fit without rubbing and not inquiring about if they have aftermarket wheels or are running spacers that change the offset and therefore the scrub radius.

I have read over and over that 265/65r17s will fit without rubbing, but I can tell you they absolutely WILL if you are running spacers.... We trimmed a BUCH of the pinch seam and still have some rubbing when we hit a bump and are on partial turn. You can see what we did to make the 265s fit HERE. NOTE: we also have lifted it, not that rubbing is greatly impacted by the lift.

If I digress into the lifts.... The 1.25-1.5" from the Aussie or Budget boosts are inaccurate. Unless people are including the larger tires, you are looking at a real world of 1 inch in the front and slightly over an inch in the rear. We have before and after measurements in our install directions HERE.

I have the MFC lift and 245/70/17 tires. No rubbing.

Rubicon wheels are the 17s but have a different backspace/offset. The require a spacer to bring them back to the OEM offset. As for tires... the Rubicons come with 32s. You will want a lift and still have a fair amount of trimming to clear them.

Edit to add. You will need spacer/adapters anyway to convert the KLs bolt pattern to the JK/JKU 5x5 pattern.
