Kelvin (color) of lights

Hello. Does anybody know what the kelvin (color) of strip lights above the headlights on the 2015 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk are?

I only ask because I'm contemplating adding HIDs and I like to get the matching color whether it be 5,000k, 6,000k. Thank you.

I would put the eyebrows at about 5k. 6k is too blueish and the eyebrows definitely have more a daylight-white temp.

Hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon. I just checked the LED headlights I bought (Alla link below) and they say 6k but I can't imagine they're really 6k. The second link below is LED strip lights I added. You can see the color temp of the headlights, eyebrows and strip lights.

Just some advice, up to you what you do with it : white LEDs are usually close to 6000K. At that color temp, there is a slight violet hue to them, but you have to know it's there, while say 6000K xenon bulbs will have a slight blue hue to them.
In real life, the human eye prefers lower temp light colors, and lumen count is also highest near 4000K.

My advice : don't go higher than 5000K, which is at the edge of 'neutral white' while still producing good lumens for great illumination ahead. The higher temp you choose, the lower the lumens and the more annoying your lights are to oncomers.

Around here, many-may have reported a 'good match' with 5000K xenons (HIDs), with the DRLs. You'd be hard pressed to find a mismatch. I have 4300K xenons and I hardly notice a difference. Plus I don't care... for me it's about lumens and eye comfort.

I second what @Mark_ says, stay with 5000 Kelvin or a little below. Better for you and the folks going the other way. :)

You think the 5000k match the "line" of lights above the acual headlights?

I want them to be functional but also match color wise.

Like I said, not a perfect match. But so close you probably won't notice. Others won't notice either.

And 5000K will give you better and less annoying lighting than 6000-6500K, for headlights.

Your decision will be a compromise, no matter which bulbs you get.

Thanks. Now I just have to find a good HID installer or go with LEDs.

LEDs... many more horror stories than success stories (for 2014-2018 Cherokee headlights).
HIDs are a better, brighter more reliable choice than LEDs (to me anyway).

HEy @jodeci888 , go with @Mark_ 's info. As I noted in my second post above, my lights are "Alla" (cheap LED's from Amazon). Just because they say 5k or 6k on the package doesn't mean they actually produce that temp. Probably zero testing or calibration was done. I bought the cheapies  😂

That seems to be the general consensus with LEDs. 😂
