Custom order 2015 Anvil Trailhawk, every option.

For one... I'm stoked. I love it so far.

A couple of things I'm wondering about and don't know where else to ask...

1. I expected the passenger seat to have that cool hidden flip up compartment for storage. It's not there! Now I do have the heated, and ventilated memory seats and the full leather... is this why? Sorry for a possible dumb question I just haven't been able to find this answer elsewhere.

2. Ambient lighting sensor dial appears to do absolutely nothing. Is there a setting somewhere I need to turn on or do I need to ask about this? Maybe a fuse? :frown: Will this be a huge deal to fix if its a problem? My cup holder lights do turn on when I turn on the headlights... but no other ... passenger foot area? No lights there at all... No lights appear to come on or be affected at all.

Now obviously those are very minor problems. I Absolutely love it so far. Only 200 miles in... looking forward to the next 200k!

Passenger seat should flip up like this :

There are two dials right of the light switch , The left one controls ambient lighting , Turn all the way up , But I guess you have done this ? Somethings not quite right .

Hey @TrailNerd welcome to JCC and congrats on the purchase!

I also have the ventilated seats and no passenger seat storage, so that's normal.

The ambient LED light is pretty subtle. At night, look in the foot wells, the door handles, and the in-door storage by your feet.

Congrats on the jeep. Yes it's the ventilated seat package that takes away the passenger seat compartment.
I actually was wondering about that ambient light switch as well and will also look a little more closely in those areas.

There's also one more ambient light overhead between the reading lights that shines on the cup holders and gear shift. Again, it's pretty subtle but I think that one's the most noticeable.

Thanks

Hey thanks for all the replies! Plan to post some pics here soon! I would post the pics I took at the dealer right when I got it but since the windows have since been tinted it wouldn't do it justice!

I feel a lot better about the seat now! I was a little perplexed for a moment.

Will continue to investigate the ambient light switch.

Congrats on the new jeep ! As was said earlier , the ambient lighting is very subtle . Play with the dial in complete darkness and you will see the difference in the light

Congrats on the new ride. I thought that my ambient lights were'nt working, but you have to be in a very dark place for them to be obvious.

Love to see some pics of your new Trailhawk. How long did you have to wait for your order to arrive? I am on week 2 now...

Also for the ambient lights put your hand up to the light in the center of the roof. You will see that it does change. It goes from say 100% to 80% but by the time it hits the center console its so diluted you can't tell.

ETA it's computered controlled and it has kind of a delay.

Ok I think I attached the pic.

Let's see...

Ordered September 22, 2014. Was told "about six weeks"
which I estimated as Nov. 3rd.
VOTS system never worked for me.
Inquired Oct. 28th was there any word?
They said... YES! Built and on the way expect it to arrive Nov 3rd - Nov 7th.

I took delivery on November 5th. (It actually arrived there evening of the 4th... they took a bit to prep it etc).

Had 9 miles on it when I got it.

The ambient lighting is only visible in the dark. So in the dark if you adjust the knob you will see the foot wells and other areas in the vehicle get a little brighter or dimmer. It is very subtle.

And next item up...

Ok. I've "investigated" the ambient light dimmer. LOL. That is the most subtle thing I think I've ever seen.

Thank you to the replies here which led me to the discovery of the tiny lights that it controls!

Next item up for "is it working?" Mirror Dimmer! What does it do? Is this also a really subtle item? Will I only notice this at night with headlights shining into my rearview? So far I've not noticed any difference with it on or off... and I believe I was even looking at it at night...

Anyway... everything else going good so far! Mostly... :p

I checked out the ambient light switch for about the 5th time last night making sure it was dark. Glad to say the switch is actually functional:) I had to look carefully as it is very subtle but found it adjusts the floor wells, door handles, door pockets and tiny spot light in roof console that I actually thought was a hole for a screw holding it up lol. Thanks @cherokee for telling me where to look. I was previously staring at cup holder light which is not adjusted at all.

The auto-dimming mirror automatically adjusts for headlight glare
from vehicles behind you. Yes, you will absolutely notice it at night, if you switch it off in Uconnect! Note that the dimming function is disabled when you shift to reverse!

Not to thread jack, but because the locations of the ambient lights has been discussed throughout this thread, could someone advise or take a picture of where the ambient light is located behind the door handles? My Sport doesn't have ambient lighting, so I've added foot well and center console lights myself, really not too sure where the door handle lights are mounted or located (and cannot find any pics online). Been trying to stick with the stock locations when it comes to drilling lol.

Thanks in advance! :)

Has anyone replaced the ambient light switch module. One day I was in a hurry and jumped into my 2014 limited and my knee smashed in the light module. So now I can't use my ambient light and my headlight selector wheel is bent and smashed in. I was looking them up but there's so many options I don't want to get the wrong one. Hit me back.
