Just ordered Limited

Great Forum! I'm looking forward to learning and sharing. Wife and I just ordered a Limited with Active Drive II so it can flat tow behind our RV. My daughter had a '94 Cherokee Sport which gave her great service. I remember it as fun car to drive and very useful.

We got the new one in Cashmere because that's the only color that will match the RV. Dealer told us there were no Cashmere's within 500 miles of us so we are looking at a January delivery (hopefully).

I intend to keep track of status via the Vehicle Tracker function on Jeep.com. Has anyone had experience pro or con in using the tracker?

Congratulations and welcome. The VOTS system is very basic and does not provide any information. It updates about 7am cental time every morning so checking it out multiple times a day wont give you any aditional information.

Thanks for the info - but - what is the value if it doesn't provide ANY information? Does it at least give a target final assembly date?

Unfortunately, it does not. You get notified of the initial order. You get notified when it goes into D1 (production scheduled) but not when it will be built. Then you get notified when it enters production, when it goes to inspection and when it ships.

That is it. No dates and no specifics.

Your dealer has access to more specific information but not when it will be built. Your Jeep will be assigned a sequence number and will be built according to that number.

If you go to jeepgarage.org and pay for a level 3 or 4 membership you will get detailed specific updates 2 to 3 times a day guaranteed about the status of your vehicle.

I just went to this site and found exactly what you are saying but the thread had several people asking questions about the tracking with no responses.

Has anyone used this service and gotten good info?

Yes, but they really can't provide you any more information about the build date then your dealer can. Where Jeep garage comes into its own is after the build process has begun. Their tracking information for post build is first rate.

Yes they had updates daily where you didn't want to bug the dealer daily lol. It was good for me!
