This is how we do it, and we bring our friends cars too. Otherwise I just drive mine to the track...😉😎
Those damn sticky Michelins make a mess in my hauler with the pebbles though...😬😎
oh man, looks like a good time! where do the pebbles come from?
must be fun driving a hotrod on city streets

oh yeah I get that, but are they from your driveway? or the racetrack grounds? not to be nosey, just curious
A little of everything. That particular day was a gravel covered access road. Most of us run either Michelin Pilots or Toyo Proxes ultra high performance summer street tires. They use an extremely soft, and sticky compound, and are basically a street legal race tire. They just pick up the pebbles, especially when they're hot...It's a little annoying at times. My friend just bought a set of the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's for his highly modified Camaro ZL1 that don't seem to be as bad, but he hasn't had them on the track yet, so we don't know how they actually perform under race conditions. The compromise with any ultra high performance summer tires, though they provide maximum grip and handling, they wear out quickly, and they're expensive. I'm on my third set of Pilots, and the Shelby only has barely 12,000 miles in the 6yrs I've had it, but that's a lot of track time. Under normal street driving, one could probably get 12,000 miles or so on a set...😎

Looking forward to the seasons last track day at my home track, Utah Motorsport Campus, ten minutes from my house this Saturday. Hopefully it's a little warmer than the 30's cuz those sticky summers don't like track temperatures below about 50°F, and it gets a little sketchy in the grip department...😎

how long did it take to get to 144?
what was your starting speed?
is this a 4wd unit?
sounds like fun! wear a helmet?
edit - just watched the video. that's not a track. you had someone filming you at 144mph on public road? at night? thru an underpass? I can think of safer conditions to max it out, but pretty cool to see what 144 looks like.
I just started at highway speeds 70 to 80.
It took a bit to get up to 144. after around 120 it shifts into 5th and it slows down a lot.
I hit a new record the other night, 149mph.
I make 1 or 2 passes down each side of the express lane to make sure it's clear, then I do the run.
I just had a friend posted up at the end.
Edit: Forgot to add, I have the FWD model.

I figure that's a good thing... judging by how she felt at 100, I wouldn't want to go much faster than that even on a wide open, empty road, with no fear of the law...

Back in the day, you could disable the speed governor with an ECU tune... These days it sounds like it's much more complicated...

On my old '04 VW GTI, I've hit the governor at 133mph and it didn't feel as bad as 100 did in the Cherokee...
I'm on Lowering coil overs and it feels great at high speeds and turns.

By chance do you have any better pictures of the intake you've set up?? I'm curious to see how you've set it up & from your comments you've noticed some pretty big results!! One other question for you, do you have a link or further info regarding the ported throttle body you've installed??
I have the MMX 80mm Ported Throttle body. About the intake setup. I have a Flowmaster CAI and regularly the intake sucks up air from up in the fender. i removed that whole bottom part and removed my foglight for PVC piping. I'm not sure anyone is crazy enough to go to this extreme.

Love this innovation, I’ve been doing mods for a while on my Jeep for performance, this is awesome 👏.
I may need to try this on the 2.0, as all anyone offers for my little engine is the high flow air filter.

Video
This was 140 in the recording but I hit 144MPH a little bit after.
I was on old sparkplugs at 99k mileage. I just changed them about a week ago and I've yet to go test.

I know in the log below the IAT is quite warm, since then I've deleted one of the fog lights and mocked up a routing to the intake area. I have already noticed massive results in temps.
This is a toll road in Dallas, TX. Road was completely clear.

No offense and really impressed with all your upgrades, I think you me and Tyler and a few others have really went all out on our jeeps. But do you have a video of the dash actually achieving this top speed? Reason I ask is I have pushed my 2.0T Jeep to 316hp and 332tq, it’s the most powerful I’ve found online worldwide, and had high speed tires installed. I took a private road that was mostly flat forever at an old airstrip that lead back to a road. The top speed was 140 on the needle speedometer, 141 on GPS, and oddly 138 mph on the center digital speedometer. I just don’t see your claimed top speed being accurate and request actual proof of the achieved speed. I will post my official proof tomorrow also.

Hey, I would have to run it again and screenshot my draggy for the top speed but draggy said 147.
We are definitely the only people upgrading these jeeps for speed, Tyler's forums has helped me a lot in doing what I've done.
Is yours the one on the draggy leaderboard? here's mine.
