I purchased led’s from Auxito off eBay to upgrade my interior lights. 2018 Cherokee limited.

Looks amazing except?
After about 3 months they began to flash/flicker randomly not each one and not at the same time. I contacted the seller and they replaced them. Now another 4 months doing the same on two.
these say they are “can bus free” wondering if I just have wrong ones? No codes or dash warnings at all. The research I did previously steered me towards a single chip type instead of multiple chip designs.
anyone suggest which they like and have had good success with?
Thank you in advance

More likely then not, its the leds causing the issue. If it was a canbus, it would do it from the start, not after several months. Also, I'm not sure if the interior lights are monitored by the BCM anyways.

I agree. AFAIK, all interior lights are not monitored. The licence plate lights are, though.

One problem I've read about with LED interior replacement bulbs is that, if not CANbus type, they can keep a glow for an hour after they are turned off, from residual current in the circuit. A resistor fixes that, but it's extra work, unless you get CANbus lights.

Sounds like a bulb problem here.

Thanks guys for the reply. Kinda exactly what I thought so after I posted I contacted Auxito to see what they say. Awaiting a response from them. I’ll post it when received. Thanks again I sincerely appreciate the feedback.
I had a similar issue with Chinese LED interior lights a few years ago. Worked okay for a while, then the flickering started. I wrote it off to poor quality control.

Ok so, I think the issue IS the bulbs, because the resistance has to be just right, or the computer doesn't like it. I am pretty new to alfaobd, but I believe you can install a resistor somewhere, and fix the issue. You may also need to do a proxy align after installing everything. I'd ask in the alfa threads. Just a guess, but I have read a lot of posts about probs with led aftermarket bilbs. I do believe that you can get the led's with the correct resistance to cure the issue also. I have no idea what the proper specs are. I was about to get some off of aliexpress when I first picked my car up, and then I saw the issues other ppl had online, and decided not to mess with it until I knew more.

your car most likely has theater dimming lights.(fade in and out) that is usually controlled by a module like the BCM, and usually they will throw codes sure if they have issues, but the biggest thing is just the LED quality and the ability of them to light under seriously minor current from so many possible places, meaning they will be lit and thats ruining the onboard electronics all the time(assuming they light up even barely i guess)Replace 1 of your lamps with incandescent
does it fix the rest?
