It's snowing, the ploughs are out and leading the news on TV tonight was stories and very scary video and shots of accidents, wrecked cars, people on stretchers and people and police saying slow down, slow down, slow down. It was a combination of slippery roads and white outs.

So the option I want is the invisible force field bubble to save me from all those idiots who don't know how to drive on snowy roads. What good is 4x4 going to do me when all those idiots are out on the road? As the saying goes, in the snow I want to be the only idiot on the road. And 4x4 is no good at all when you can't see. :(

Everyone always forgets how to drive the first time it really snows and it's a mess. Every year. Very frustrating.
Well I guess I'm just an old fuddy duddy cynic but to my mind some folks never did learn how to drive in snow, and never do.

I want Phasers and Photon Torpedos for those people who insist on driving 10MPH below the speedlimit in the fast lane.

I had a 2 door Explorer and later Escape that I wired a speakers inside and outside to a sound chip from a key chain that made Star Trek phaser and photon torpedo sounds. The fire buttons were mounted on the dash below the radio and had flashing lights. Yeah, even had an old Walkman tape player set to auto reverse playing the bridge sensor pings endlessly. My passengers loved it. Was a rats nest of wires though.

I say we cancel winter altogether, due to lack of enthusiasm .
No lack of enthusiasm here. Was actually hoping to be skiing a few days ago, the day of messy roads, but not quite my minimum 10 cm for getting the cross country skiis out. Think we heard a snowmobile last night though.

I'd love to have some projector LED bulb thats super bright to replace the stock reverse lights with, perfect if someone is tailgating you
Years ago a friend did mount a big light on the back of his Volvo for that purpose. I just do what I was taught some millennium ago in my high school defensive driving course. Slow down. You might still be rear ended if you brake when a deer pushed around because it's hunting season darts out in front of you but if the speed is less the impact will be less. Hopefully no deer/car impact at all.
