Just never turn it on? If you are talking about the setting that automatically turns it on when it’s cold out those settings are in the uconnect somewhere. The steering wheel doesn’t get hot enough to cause any issue with putting a cover on it. On a hot day temperatures can reach upwards of 175 degrees inside cars parked in the sun, WAY hotter than your heated steering wheel gets, and steering wheel covers don’t melt away so I’m confident that a slightly warm steering wheel will cause problems with them.

The heated steering wheel comes on automatically in cold weather only if it is configured to do so in your startup settings. If you don't want it to turn on, just change that setting.

In warm weather, the heated steering wheel never comes on unless you choose to turn it on.
