Does it stay in a lower gear (high rpm) or too low of an rpm before it downshifts?

It will stay in a lower gear and rev to about 5000 rpms before it up shifts. That is the only issue I have. May bring it in to have it reflashed when I get around to it.

I agree. I live in a very hilly area, and it does it all the time

Almost seems like it was designed that way. There are times I actually find it helpful and others annoying haha

I also found that it stays in a low gear while going down a hill sometimes. The rpms will stay around 3,000 and I need to keep on the gas slightly to maintain speed. would have expected it to drop down to 1,500 rpm and coast down the hill. But this is the first automatic car I have owned so I donno...

800 miles so far. Like everything so far except two things:
-rear hatch won't open with key in my pocket. Have to unlock doors or take fob out of my pocket.
-wish steering was lighter/faster at low speeds. Not as maneuverable around town as my 2013 Escape.

Very satisfied so far! I wish auto mode was a balance of the current auto and sport mode. I find sport mode perfect for the highway but too aggressive in stop and go. Auto is great for economy but very dull at times.

I have 860 miles on mine so far. No problems, but I've noticed the same quirks with the transmission that have been described in this thread. I think, in general, cars are programmed to shift this way in an effort to hit certain fuel economy numbers. I really wish it just had a 6-speed auto that was responsive to throttle inputs.
