Thanks but the little black boxes I was referring to are in the rear quarter panels. They are wired to the sensors in the rear plastic bumper.

 

Forgot to mention my Trailhawk is a 2019.

 

From memory, I just took out each sensor to drop the bumper cover.

 

I might just give that a try. Just need to drop it a little to get the hitch switched. The video I watched showed the boxes removed from the rear fenders but not how it was done. Not much room in there to get my hands.

Yeah those white clips are a PIA. Can't wait to put them all back in.

 

Careful, I missed a couple and had to screw my fender trim back on.

 

You must not be installing the stock hitch since there is no way without taking off the bumper. And disconnecting the module for my vehicle was a real pain it was secured really tight to the connector I had to pry really hard. Also learn from my mistakes and make sure the battery is disconnected when doing this or else when you turn your vehicle back on you will have parking sensor issues.

 

I just dropped the plastic bumper to put the hitch in. I took out the 6 sensors on the bumper and unclipped a few factory wire clips and got enough room. It was a real PIA!

 

Glad I didn't have to do any of that, the guys at the factory did it all for me...😎
