Hey all,

Just purchased my first Jeep. A TH in Anvil. Its a mean looking vehicle in the TH suit.

The Jeep is replacing a 2010 Mazda B4000 with 130,000kms. It's been a reliable vehicle, given the paces I've run it through, from rocks to non-existent trails to lots of lake driving (lots of ice here) to one event where I though muskeg was solid enough to drive on haha. The dealer has no clue what that truck has seen, they'll figure it out shortly I'm sure.

I also drive a lot of highway for work and use my vehicle as an office. The Mazda is way too small since everything needs to get stuffed into the rear in winter. It's brutal actually. With a looming transmission issue, rust forming and general depreciation, it was time to replace. I took a hit on the trade, but I've already recovered my loss over the past three years at tax time.

I've never trusted Chrysler, so it's a big step for me to get into a Jeep. It's even more of a gamble with a first year production vehicle with so much new technology. Really hoping I have a good experience as I like a lot of Chrysler designs (and pricing) but fear their quality reputation.

So far the quality reviews have been decent for the Cherokee it seems. A lot of the issues seem to be 'bugs' that can be worked out. Some early issues are just terrible; I hope it doesn't apply to mine and wish that on nobody else. I also have a Corolla XRS, so my reliability standard is very high (160,000kms with no issues!!)

Aaaaanyway....looking forward to being part of this community, you'll get lots of pics and stories and questions once I get this thing out and driving (Tuesday).

Cheers,

Chad

Thanks for the welcome all.

I'm located in North Bay and often drive the far north area like Timmins, Kapuskasing, Sault, Thunder Bay so my Cherokee will get some cold exposure.
I know what you mean. I worked in Sudbury for a couple of years and drove back to Ottawa every couple of weeks - always fun in the wintertime particularly the stretch between North Bay & Mattawa. Hit some real good snow storms there - LOL.

I'm mostly worried about the insane amount of salt and rocks and potholes on those stretches... my 2010 Mazda is already showing signs of bad rust because of it.

I should look into the undercoat-wax application for my TH.
