b/c Garmin doesn't provide the update service for in-car navi like it does for stand-alone units.

Navtec is the preferred provider of MAP (POI'S, roads, etc) data. any software changes to the Garmin interface are packaged up in the 8.4AN updates, which you can download.

*BTW - i don't think ANY of the GPS providers actiually provide their own maps, they usually get them from Navtec or another mapping provider.

Further question: On my Chrysler 300 and other garmin products one could click on the mph number and all kinds of info showed up like driving direction elevation max speed since reset like moving average overall average etc. can this be done with the GPS in the TH?
