I have a TH with a GPS which is missing simple features available with any reasonable priced dashboard Garmin and by the way in Chrysler units: like elevation, max speed, moving time, moving averages, stopped time, overall average and total time, all available in one package simply by clicking the speed bottom. These features are especially in order for a vehicle with so much off road capability. I cannot understand especially since it is available with other Chrysler products

It is in there. Go to Info/Trip Computer as well as the Where Am I for that stuff. Might want to read the manual as well.
You can also record off road trails, which is something I haven't seen in a dash Nav system (not to say others don't have it).

I found both of the things you are talking about, clew, and I can't wait to try them. Especially the bread crumbs-type tool.

Yeah, the trail record tool is a really cool feature, though I've only used it on-road messing around.

Clew thanks for the info. Unfortunately I do not have the manual. So I have to wait till I get the three manuals. Anyway still could not find the elevation feature and in my opinion the Chrysler 300 GPS is a lot better and much easier to operate. Awaiting now the manuals
Thanks again

I did find that a lot of location such as stores and gas stations do not list who or what they are on the GPS. My wifes 2013 Grand Char does list this. It would be nice if when they show the icon that you could tap it and see the names of the location.

Mine shows a list of the POI's in the area when tapped. You prob have to turn the specific POI's you want to see on...but it sounds like you've done that if you have the icons.

I found I left out a step when looking at this on my lunch break, tap the area on the screen where the icons are, then there is a little conversation bubble type thing in the upper right corner you hit to show the list

Sounds to me like the GPS is fine if you take the time to read the instruction manual. I don't get why people are so averse to reading instructions. There are probably better GPS systems out there but i don't think that the Jeep Cherokee's is anything to complain about.

Jeepers: First of all I do not have the manual and supposedly I will get the manual next week. Anyway car tester were very impressed with the Chrysler GPS unit since it is very easy to operate. It was mentioned in almost every test furthermore I use GPS units starting with the Garmin Street pilot for a long time both on my motorcycles and in cars on the dash board. I updated these units with newer models over the years. When I purchased my Chrysler it was very easy to operate the Chrysler (speak Garmin) unit as also confirmed by these testers. I cannot understand why jeep did not offer this unit. Anyway that is the end of the discussion from my side

Must not be the 8.4 then, one of the older setups...Chrysler uses the almost exact same software as the jeep. All the great reviews for the current 8.4 are for the same system across the board Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge.
