Hi all,

The trailhawk has great rubber mats for the seating area but what do y'all use for the cargo area. I do see some on amazon that folks say seem more plastic then maybe rubber. Don't want stuff sliding around everywhere. Do you all use the weathertech?

Thanks

Rob

Currently I just use a vacuum. lol. If its really muddy then I throw it in the roof rack. The rest can be vacuumed out once it dries.

I have something like this in my 2014 and the same in wife's 2017...easy to fit and if you don't cut the front but fold it over when the back seat is up, it will cover about half of the seat back when folded flat.

Mine has had paint spilled, chainsaws, tools, etc and still in great shape.

I got this one from Amazon last year. It's ok (it protects the carpet and fits perfectly) but it's definitively not the same quality and thickness as, say, the Jeep all weather floor mats which are nice and thick. This cargo liner is a thinner vinyl/rubber/plastic-ish combo, the thinness is enough that it's can be folded over (it ships in a box folded in half).

End verdict - it was inexpensive and does protect the carpet in the cargo area so I got what I paid for. If there was something thicker similar to the Jeep floor mats and only a reasonable amount more (e.g. around $100) I would probably go with that. One thing that annoys me sometimes is when I bring home wood; 2x4's, 2x6's etc. from HD or Lowes and fold flat the rear and front seats to take it home. I put a thick moving blanket over the folded-down seat backs to keep them from getting torn up. But when I slide the wood out, the mat will come out too unless I lift the wood off the mat first. It slides (again, thin and nothing on the back to friction-hold it to the carpet in the cargo area)

Unless you are worried about a lot of liquid, I just use a black moving blanket from harbor freight. Folded in half when the seats are up, unfolded when they are down...

I'm using the Weathertech cargo liner I bought for my 2016. The cargo area is a little different shape on my 2022 but close enough.

@rlefig Search on Amazon or your store of choice for the 3D MAXpider brand. https://a.co/d/dpd0SLi I have used their mats for years and love them. They have fine carpet spikes on the bottom. A middle layer of sound deadening polymer and the top mat layer is a super textured rubber. They grip the carpet very well and do not slid around or allow items to slide around. They are custom fit and while rubber feel like premium mats and not like rock hard slippery plastic like weather tech does especially when its cold out. I had weather tech before and actually sold them off and got 3D MAXpider since they are that much better.

Here's what I got. Rear Cargo Trunk Liner Floor Cover Mat Carpet Black for Jeep Cherokee 2019-2022 | eBay It is very light weight and came folded. At first I thought the creases would stay, but they eventually flattened out. It's a fraction of the duty of a WeatherTech, but it's OK for my purposes. I don't need to be hauling around any more cargo weight than I have to.
As a bonus, it came with mats for the side pockets.
