To make a long story short, I ordered a Red Limited, I4, tech, lux, trailer, on Nov 9. Dealer was told I would be moving Dec 20 and needed it either in Montgomery AL by then or drop-shipped to Rapid City SD when production was finished. I was told this would be top priority, first off the train and rushed to the dealership! It went in for 100% inspection (of course) Dec 10 and would not make it to Montgomery by the time my family moved. I tried calling, every day until I moved, telling them to drop-ship it because it was projected to arrive on the 23rd. They dragged their feet, and returned not a single call until it was already on a train on the 19th and could not be drop-shipped. After yelling at the GM for an hour, he promised to pay to have it shipped to Rapid City ($1800) and would have the flat bed waiting the day it arrived to begin immediate shipment. The Jeep did not even make it to Montgomery until Jan 6 and there was no flatbed waiting. They didn’t even bother to call the shipping company until the 9th. NOW, the shipping company can’t find drivers for 3 days, and will take 4 days to arrive here in Rapid City. I would have skunked the entire deal if I had not worked $32,000 for a $35,500 MSRP and 0% for 36 mo. I HATE this dealership and the GM continues to not return phone calls. A jeep, promised to me by 20 Dec, MAY be in my possession by 17 Jan. I will not sign ANYTHING until it is here and I get it checked over completely by the dealer here first. What can I do?

Well, the way I see it you've waited this long what's another 6 days. Or go TODAY to the local jeep dealership. Liberty Chrysler & Jeep they have 5 Cherokee's in stock, Model's aren't listed except for 2 trailhawks . Tell them what your going through. They might match or beat the price and terms of your sale and have something you like just as much or better. Even if you go through with your original sale you'll want to get to know this dealership.

+1. Check local and surrounding dealers for a suitable model in stock. Tell the M'gmry dealer you have some helpful advice for where they can park theirs.

Sorry to hear about your experience. All those things are not excusable. The only thing I can though is, they could be telling you the truth about the shipping company. These last two weeks have been a nightmare in the trucking world between the holidays, days off and severe weather in that part of the country. Things should go back to normal by next week and hopefully means arrival of your new Cherokee. Good luck :)

Oh no, so sorry to hear about your frustration, I know it won't help you now, but once you get behind the wheel you will soon forget the agony of the wait. You'll love it once you get it! Good luck and I hope you have no more delays.

I thought things like this may happen, thats why I was trying not to order one. I opted to fly 1,000 miles to a dealer that met my price and drive it home over a few days.

I second the one about going through Jeep.com vehicle search find your exact build then call the dealership tell them your story and work a deal. Book a cheap ticket and go pick it up.

Go onto jeep .com and find another one I had to and will be getting my Trailhawk next week.
I ordered a Limited on Nov 2 All went well and delivery was on or about Dec 10 Well the car has been sitting in inspection going on 5 weeks now code I not ok'd

I contacted jeep and received a reply saying "I was lucky" because it was undergoing a total inspection It will be sometime before release. I knew more about this than the dealer who has been great and I have a long standing history with

I reemailed jeep as a reply stating I was uneasy about this and that the length of time far exceeded why I feel it should take and I had concerns about this vehicle I asked if they would see about some type of rebate or? to assist in covering some of an extended wareentee I was told that all comminication now will have to go through the dealer That any additional emails will be fowarded to coperate for file

Well that tells me there is more wrong with this and it is better to move on which I did As a side note I also told them in my first email that this is the second jeep that I purchased from them this year the other being a 14 JGC Limited

Speak with you dealer about finding another one

To put it simply you screwed up by thinking that a dealership would take care of all this for you. You need to tell the dealership to go eff themselves then go online to a dealer near where you are now and find one that you want close to you. You can negotiate the price back down to close where you were. Or simply don't buy from them. I went through 3 dealerships before I bought mine. And hurt some dealers feelings. And really don't care. I despise dealerships. I hope one day you can just order a vehicle from the manufacturer and have it shipped to your house. Good luck on finding your Cherokee.

I get what your saying, I was given 2 earlier dates for delivery of my Jeep, and finally on the 3rd date it was really here.
But this : "After yelling at the GM for an hour" will never get you in a better situation than you were originaly.

ordered a Cherokee Ltm Black on Nov.14th,2013,. Build on Dec.13th & shipped to 100% QC inspection,28 days still @ Inspection. On Jan 7. Jeep Hot Framed a New Cheerokee for me. New Vin in to inspection on Jan.10 @6:38a.m.,SHIPPED @ 2:58 P.M. same day.
17th Jeep, Your first order was built the same day as my first order Dec. 13. Mine sat in inspection for 30+ days. Today order was cancelled and was assigned a new VIN and Hot frame ordered to be built first thing next week. I bet yours was part of the 30 or so that had the problem mine did I posted about in the other thread "Undeliverable" under Cherokee Purchasing and Orders.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, if your absolutely hating the dealer cancel the contract and buy from your new locale dealers
