Hello,
So i've had my Latittude for about a month now (1300 miles) .. and really have enjoyed it. Yesterday while driving .. the odometer started to continuously flash. After stopping for an errand, i got in and it was still flashing. Once again i headed out this morning ... still flashing.
Anyone else experience this yet? ... know of a fix?. i will probaly contact the dealer Thursday when I get back from vacation.

I would appreciate any help

i heard of someone who had this on a different jeep and it was light dimmer switch. couldnt decide to be bright or dim

Could the dimmer be sitting in between 2 settings? Alas when the car is getting bumped about it switching between the 2?

my instrument screen flashes dark to white for a while, then gets jumbled, then gets pink and purple dots as it gets better, then it works about 30 minutes later. Been doing this for weeks. I'm holding off taking it in until after the holidays

My front readout has flashed a few times as well. Seems to happen randomly (and rarely) when I use the wipers, but I can't reproduce it.

Again I noticed a lot of flashing on the front readout...basically it goes : bright, dim, half, bright, half, dim etc.etc... then returns to normal for a while and comes back randomly.

Starting to worry me.

Update ... Got an appoinment Monday at the dealer. He said the was a recall on the instrument cluster ..(couldnt fin any info on line). He thinks that will fix the flashing odometer. We will see.

As nicely as I can state it, your dealer is wrong. The recall and TSB is on the Grand Cherokee dashboard problem and not the Cherokee. I had to straighten out my dealer service department on this too as they were going to try and flash my Cherokee for a problem I wasn't having anyway. Have your dealership go to their Chrysler website and put in your VIN. It will give them a list of any recalls or TSBs for your vehicle.

I was thinking the same thing.....I looked it up in Moper Owner Connect and saw no recalls for my VIN

having the same odometer flashing issue in my latitude. only 200+ miles. just started today. nothing to do with dimmers that I can see.

I only see the problem when my dash lights are up to full. When I dim them at night, it does not happen.

Tried that and still flashing. I am going in tomorrow to have it looked at. Service rep I called never heard of it or can explain it. Will update with results.

Went to the dealer today. Had the tech look at it. Turns out there was a mis match of some sort in the computer. vin mismatch or something. print out says a ecu config. mis match. Did a reconfiguration procedure and proxiy relearn (no idea what this all means). The OD stopped flashing after that....sounds to me like they did a reboot and it fixed it. Said nothing more to worry about. Cheers and GO BUCKS!

Funny thing....33 degrees this morning and the instrument screen was fine.......must have the cold weather package, need the warm weather package.....

Update! .. took the Cherokee to the dealer today. They replaced the automatic headlight sun sensor. Had the vehicle for a few hours, The odomiter has not been flashing to this point. Hopefully that fixed the prolem permanently.
