Hi,
So I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Trailhawk with ample bells and sifficient whistles. It's my first Brand New vehicle (something which I swore for years was for suckers)... but, but... It's a new Cherokee! and I can afford one without Rust now!

Does anyone here have any hesitation buying an untested model? or is the ol' "god hates a coward" Credo, winning out? I'm a little nervous about being the guinea pig for a new line of vehicle. (with a 9 speed transmission!)
It's the ONLY thing holding me back at this point.
Thoughts? experience?

Hi,

That is what a lot of us did already. The reviews have been great, the car has more features for less money than its competitors, not to mention it can, as one reviewer put it, climb up one side of a building and down the other. What more could you ask for? Join the guinea pig club, my friend.

It did not stop me. I ordered one without ever seeing one. Since then I have had the opportunity to see and sit in one. Nothing yet has disuaded me from my purchase yet. My dealer is supposed to be getting a couple in the next few days so I can drive one to finalize my descision.

I'm not too nervous about that. We'll see, I guess, but the reviews have been so good that I'm willing to chance it. Every reviewer says it's the best in class by far.

When the only thing people can complain about is that they wish that it looked different, it's a safe bet that it's a good vehicle. Especially if you're like me and you think it looks great.

Guinea Pig club isn't that bad. Have about 730 miles now. (I drive alot!) 9 speed is fine. Mentioned previously about the hesitation in shifting/ higher revving going uphill early on (tops 3x) but that has stopped considering I travel that hill almost daily. :) In my experience I went and test drove the 4x2 v6. Loved the look and feel and bought the Trailhawk while it was still on the back of the 18 wheeler. Still waiting to see another one on the road!

Yes. I am also adjusting to feeling a vehicle "shift" after 4 years of a CVT transmission. So we'll call it the "getting to know each other" phase. :)

So I just went in to order my jeep and apparently they aren't making any without leather yet? Or there are none on the ground.
I just wanted to get the V6 with tow, cloth/leather and cold package- and that could be 3 months- but they really don't know...
darn. Time to exhibit that patience I've been noticing I have now- in my old age.

Where do I post to see if ANYONE has seen a V6 with tow package?

If mine ever gets here it is a V-6 w/tow.

I believe the cloth trail hawk seats are delayed until the first of December.
Hudson,

Where did you hear cloth trailhawk seats are delayed until December?

I hope not.

BTW - Other than my cloth seats we have identical Trailhawks.

Hudson, My dealer has almost the exact rig arriving next week, minus the tow- he wants me to take that one, but I really don't need the comfort and convenience, What I need is the tow package with the 50:1 final drive ratio.
ho hum.
