Did any of you folks purchase the extended warranty on your new Cherokee? I'm picking up my new Trailhawk on Friday and I'm trying to decide if I should purchase an extended warranty on it. I plan on keeping it for at least 5 years (if I like it). Any thoughts? :huh:

I think with the 10 year/100k mile power train warranty you don't need to worry about that for awhile. You may be able to get a 3rd party warranty that covers other items outside of the power train. The KL is full of wiz bang gadgets so some sort of electronics warranty comes to mind - especially past the 3yr/36k mile threshold.

I know the standard warranty is 3 year and 60,000km (In Canada) and the Powertrain is 5 year and 100,000km. Does any one know if the 4 wheel drive system is considered powertrain? Or is powertrain just Engine & Transmission?

Yup the 4WD falls under power train.

I'm not too worried about the powertrain since it's for 100K. I'm more concerned about the electronics and the fancy NAV screen with all of the controls it has in it. Can you just imagine the cost to replace something like that? :huh:
