Do you guys know if the Chryslerwarrantys.com charge sales tax? My dealer has quoted me a price and cw.com is cheaper already, but on top of the dealer quote they said it was the quote + tax. (which means the cw.com quote price is even more attractive if they don't charge sales tax)

Thanks!

each state would be different for sales tax.. minnesota service contracts are not taxable.
Ah, thank you. I'm in Tennessee, so if the dealer quoted it (+tax), then TN must charge tax on service contracts, but I'll do a little more research to verify that.

Before I found the deal from Clay, I was all set to buy the Lifetime Max Care, 100 ded from http://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/. You can get a quote on-line and the cost is $2185.

I had exchanged a few e-mails with them, Bob Cline specifically, and he was very responsive to my questions. From some info on other forums, they had dealt with him and it was all good.

Also Bob said if you put in "fifty" in the promo code it will take off an additional $50.

Great information in this thread. I looked at all the websites and got the best deal for 7/85 from Clay at Zeller Motors (~$1200). Thank you Tiredofspam.

Didn't go for lifetime because it's hard to imagine where we'll be in life even five years down the line. Ability to transfer is useful in the 7/85 Max Care.

I d0 have some questions about options codes for these warranties. The Jeep website gives MX785N as the option if you choose current warranty as 3/36 (New car) and WM785N if you choose current warranty as 5/100 powertrain. The MX is significantly expensive on that website compared to the WM.

I got WM785N from Zeller motors and all other websites also give a quote for the WM. I called Mopar customer care after getting the papers and they said it was just a matter of deductible. MX = 0 and WM = 100, which seems incorrect because the Jeep website lists deductible as 100 when generating a quote for the MX785N.

The paperwork for the WM785N seems fine but I don't have same for MX785N to compare it with. As i see it there are two main questions,

1) What is the difference between the two current warranty options, i.e. the 3/36 and the 5/100 Powertrain.

My guess was that a vehicle could be out of the 3/36 but still under the 5/100. But that doesn't explain why everyone is selling me option code generated by the 5/100 warranty for a new car. They say it's coming straight from the Chrysler system and I don't have any reason to disbelieve them. Even the guy on phone at the number on the Jeep website gave me a quote for WM785N.

2) Is there any significant difference in coverage provided by warranties under these two options codes?

It's probably nothing (maybe the website has a bug!) but it would be good to know your thoughts on this.

My dealer tried to sell me a "brand x" extended warranty. Actually misrepresented it as a Mopar warranty. When I realized what they were doing, I got a refund and arranged a Mopar warranty on my own (all on day of purchase) Be careful, dealers can be sneaky.

Was the "brand x"even that much cheaper?

I am not entirely understanding your overall question, but the above portion is the factory standard warranty on all cherokees...3/36 bumper to bumper and 5/100 powertrain are both included. In reading your post it seems like you are asking about them as part of the extended warranty.

Sorry, I should provide more details.

Don't know if you saw the link above, but the best way to understand this would be by visiting this page - http://www.jeep.com/en/service_contracts/help_me_choose/

There you select the state and shopping for a new warranty. Subsequently, the website will give you three options for the warranty your car currently has (see attached image).

The options codes generated are different based on which option I choose. 3/36 results in MX785N (middle numbers vary based on year and mile choice that can be made on next page). 5/100 results in WM785N.

Hope this makes more sense

LOL, I see what you mean now...that is confusing. One way or the other, as long as you have the maxcare with the duration you want, I dont think there is a difference.

We bought the Chrysler Bumper to Bumper Lifetime Warranty on Our Trailhawk. Even though I know how to fix things. There are a lot of very expensive parts on vehicles now days. Besides I do not feel like working on vehicles any more at this stage of my life. Maintenance, Brakes and suspension no problem. The rest I would rather let somebody else deal with. Just wanted a piece of mind with all the new technology on this vehicle.
When I looked on the site there were two lifetime bumper to bumper warranties (w/o deductible). Do you know the the difference?

As far a I know there is only one Max Care bumper to bumper lifetime plan.
It has, I believe deductibles of $0, $50, $100.
I picked up the $100 deductible.:)
Just be sure its a "Chrysler extended service plan".

I would agree with the extended service contracts (from Chrysler) on these new cars if you are planning on keeping it past the 3/36 period.
I have never purchased one it the past but all the Tech and electronics on this new Jeep Cherokee scares the jeepers out of me.
A $100 deductible 8 years from now for service would be peace of mind.
A little online shopping can score a great deal on a Chrysler Lifetime Max Care Service contract and soften the cost hit.
100$ deducible is for each claim and it resets to zero after every claim. Just in case if understanding is wrong.

Is the site https://www.chryslerwarrantys.com original chryslerJeep warranty site or a 3rd party site? I see lifetime bumper to bumper for my 2014 Cherokee Limited is just 2250$ with 100$ deductible? The MOPAR website quotes 3600$ for lifetime bumper to bumper warranty.

My understanding the way it is worded it is per visit/appointment.
That would mean to me that 1 or 2 repairs are $100 deductable.
