The dealer I bought my Cherokee from tried to get me to buy some aftermarket warranty. He said that the BBB had rated this warranty company number 1 or some garbage. I told him I have never even heard of this company. Passed on their warranty. I will be adding a Mopar warranty to mine early next year.

What's the point of buying DUPLICATE coverage on parts that are covered under the original factory Warranty ?
The original factory warranty expires, unless you extend it...it isn't duplicate.

I must have gotten all caught up in the excitement of driving away in my Cherokee yesterday. I wasn't going to buy an extended warranty going in and I ended up buying a 3rd party warranty thinking it was Chrysler/Mopar factory backed warranty. Has anyone dealt with a CNA extended warranty? A quick google search shows a lot of unhappy customers. I sent an email to the guy that sold it to me asking for an explanation. I have 60 days to cancel it. I'm not sure what to do.

Just cancel the third party warranty and get the Mopar/Chrysler warranty instead. I did the same thing. My Jeep sales guy made it sound as if I was buying a Mopar warranty. A week later I noticed that he screwed me over. I canceled and never looked back. The Mopar warranties are way better and much, much cheaper.

As in the other thread, I was offered a extended warranty and told no pressure and think about it, I think I will match the factory warranty with the powertrain one

Check this thread and the other ex warranty thread for info on getting any of the Mopar/Jeep FACTORY warranties at cost (until the end of the year).

Clay at Zeller Motors is doing this. The deal absolutely CANNOT be beat!

I got the Mopar warranty but was wondering how good a value it is.

It's called 5/100 ADDED CARE PLUS (OptionCode:WA5100NFormNum:NAP1012)

Basically from everything I've read it's a supplemental warranty that covers anything the factory warranty doesn't.

Any thoughts on this? This is the first time I've bought any kind of extended coverage.

Yeah sounds like I need to go back and talk to the dealer. It was $2000 for the added care.

From the sound of others, I could have gotten more for less.

yeah, you basically added 2 yrs of warranty...would cancel that as you can do a lifetime maxcare for the same price

Just check some of the Jeep Chrysler dealers that are selling online.
The links can be found on these pages and above.
My dealer matched a Max Care life $100 deductible for $2150.
I have seen from the same site 7/70 $0 deductible for around $1500
chryslerfactoryplans.com is one of them.

See if you can cancel, then give Clay (from this thread) a call...

I got the top-level ( platinum) extended warrantee from my credit union for $1700. It is 8 year/125K bumper to bumper. It's a 1st yr Cherokee otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it.

Clays deal ended Tuesday.
True but I'd still give it a shot. See if he can still honor the price or see what he can do.

I just placed my order and am waiting for confirmation of it from the factory, and the salesman (who seems like a very straight shooter, unlike so many in the business) hasn't brought up extended warranties yet. I suppose that will happen closer to taking delivery.

I tend to agree about waiting to see how the car performs during the basic warranty period, as one or two folks have suggested above. However, the prices on some of the extended warranty options are pretty tempting.

In any event, as a new buyer who hasn't crossed this bridge yet, all of the discussion has been extremely helpful. Thanks so much for posting.

I find its usually the finance guy that broaches the warranty subject, not the salesman.

If you go to Chryslerwarrantys.com (not a misspell by me) you'll see very competitive prices.
I purchase the lifetime maximumcare for my wifes 2011 GC. You can purchase these warranties up until 4 years of in-service or 48k.
I originally purchased the CarMax warranty for 7 years/125k miles. I think this warranty is better than others. They count the time from when you purchase the car from CarMax, not the original in-service date like others do.
Finally, I got a warranty on my 05 Honda Odyssey through the credit union from a company called Intercontinental Warranty group out of south florida. They actually turned out to be outstanding. It was a 100k warranty and I took for several repairs at different dealers ... every service manager told me they were great to work with.
