Hi y'all,

For starters I will be bringing this immediately back to the dealer in next few days. I picked up my new 2019 Cherokee Limited Thursday. I am experiencing a similar problem the heated seats (passenger and driver) will not stay on more than 18 seconds. No matter how they are turned on on UConnect through the controls or apps they will just shut right off. It seems more to me like a computer/software glitch because the seats do get warm and cannot imagine something is physically broken already 3 days old... Was unsure if anyone has found a permanent solution to this problem? Software? Part?
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the 2019 Limited. I have been sick for a few days so don't know if you have posted as a new owner yet or if you want too--be we love seeing new owners make a post and a picture of that 2019 Limited. I hope you get that heated seat problem resolved if you haven't already.

Having the same issue with my 2019 Limited. Dealer said it was happening because it's so hot out, 92 degrees today, but all my other cars with seat heaters worked the same regardless of temperature outside. I hope there is a fix for this soon. Heated seats are the one thing my wife with a bad back cares about.

Just to revive this discussion.......My 2019 TH has a similar issue. I notice that both the heated seats and the steering wheel will stay on for a decent period the first cycle (15-20 minutes) but after that......cycling the heat on will kick off within a minute. Very frustrating, and nothing to do with outside temps or system limitations. My old 2015 would keep them on for hours in any weather. I have suspected a bad relay as it seems to be all the heated systems that are affected and is on my list for my first oil change / warranty stop

We have the same problem with our 2015 Grand Cherokee. It used to work just fine but now the driver seat heater turns off after 3-4 seconds...but only when we are using the uConnect navigation system. If we are not actively using the map to direct us somewhere, the seat heater works fine. We recall a forced update back in July 2018. It seems to be related.

Hi TomPayne,

We are sorry to hear that you have a concern with the heated seats in your Grand Cherokee. Have you spoken with your dealer about this? Please let us know if you are in need of additional assistance while your Jeep is in service.

I have a 2016 Cherokee Trail Hawk....same issue with driver side seat heater....seems to be related to remote start....when using remote start, drivers side seat heater only stays on for 2 or 3 seconds. When started normally the seat heater works fine.

Reviving this because my 2015 Cherokee just started experiencing this problem. No matter how long I was to turn my driver heated seat on, it shuts right off. Took it to my local dealership and they didn't see anything wrong to indicate it wasn't working. It's been a week, and it still won't stay on.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem. Driver side won't stay on for more than 3 seconds

We have a 2015 Cherokee Limited. My wife tried to use the driver's heated seat today and found that it won't stay on. (I have no idea if it ever worked as I never use it and my wife can't remember the last time she tried, if ever) The passenger seat works perfectly.

When you press the icon for the driver's heated seat in the Uconnect screen, it'll stay lit for approximately 3 to 4 seconds and turn off. I looked at the 'Settings' menu and didn't find any option that might can control over the driver's seat heating.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the club.
Nobody has posted a solution in 4 years so the solution must be a big secret.
Click on JeepCares in Post 21 above and send them a message.
This seems to be a problem on lots of Jeeps, so by now JeepCares should have an answer.
They can also motivate your Jeep dealer.
Sometimes it is the module and sometimes it is the heating element in the seat itself.
Check under the seat with a good flashlight and make sure everything is plugged in tight, no wires are loose and none of the wires look like they have overheated.
Back in the 20th Century if you put your knee down on the seat cushion it could break the heating elements. This was in SAAB 900.
It is fairly easy to damage a heating element.
When you discover the answer post it here so the rest of us will know.
My usual advice is to get the battery tested and note "battery health" on the printout.
At least this will rule it out as the problem.
Lots of luck.

Yeah, I have to agree. I think a trip to the dealer is in order now. The driver's seat heating clearly isn't working. I've tried all different scenarios and settings. Regardless of the situation, the heat icon only stays on for 2 to 3 seconds. Passenger seat works perfectly. :(
Hi there! Would you mind letting me know what the dealer said when you brought it? I am having the same issue. Thanks in advance!

Mine has been doing this for a year. Heated wheel and passenger seat works fine.

I tried replacing the relay box under the passenger seat. Didn't help.

Well my 2015 North edition started to do this this fall, anyone have the answer to the problem? Sometimes it works but most times it doesnt. Any tests that can be done to check if its the seat coil?

Thanks
