We have a 2015 Cherokee Limited. My wife tried to use the driver's heated seat today and found that it won't stay on. (I have no idea if it ever worked as I never use it and my wife can't remember the last time she tried, if ever) The passenger seat works perfectly.

When you press the icon for the driver's heated seat in the Uconnect screen, it'll stay lit for approximately 3 to 4 seconds and turn off. I looked at the 'Settings' menu and didn't find any option that might can control over the driver's seat heating.

Any ideas?

Depending on when you push that button, the uconnect may still be in boot up and cycle the seat off. Is she (or you) activating the seat heater after the vehicle has been running for 30 seconds or so? I have found that if you try on the first screen that shows the icon, it can cycle off.

I use the 1st screen buttons almost all the time and I've never had issues with the heated/cooled seats or wheel cycling off.

Hi Max57,

You can find more information about how the heated seating feature in your vehicle works in your Owner’s Manual by visiting www.mopar.com/jeep/en-us/care/knowledge-center.html and reading pages 148, 374, and 395. If you need further assistance with this concern, I am happy to help schedule you an appointment at a certified dealership for diagnosis. Please feel free to reach out.

I don't think this is the case as I've used mine in the summer a few times with no problems. Especially since the OP states the passenger one works fine, but the drivers side stops.

I'd say a trip to the dealer! :)

Yeah, I have to agree. I think a trip to the dealer is in order now. The driver's seat heating clearly isn't working. I've tried all different scenarios and settings. Regardless of the situation, the heat icon only stays on for 2 to 3 seconds. Passenger seat works perfectly. :(

Same issue here

So I just noticed that when I use the remote start in the morning the heated drivers seat fails to stay on. I have a 2014 Latitude. The passenger seat works fine. If I try turning on the seat later during the same trip that started with the remote start, it lights up but within 3-4 seconds, it goes out. The feature does seem to work correctly later on in the day when I run errands. The outside temperature has no effect on the seat working unless your referring to it going on automatically when you use the remote start. I'm off to the dealer on Monday.

We've never used the remote start function so I doubt that's my problem. I'm calling the dealership now to make my appointment.

Just heard back from the dealer. Apparently I have a faulty control module or something to that effect. Once I heard it would be $325-$350 to fix, I kind of stopped listening. I have just over 44,000 miles so of course its not covered. I told them to forget about it cause it works more times then not. Plus the car is a lease that is due back in just under a year. Hope you have better luck with yours.

Wow! 44,000 miles on a lease; how many miles do you get on a 3-year lease?

Oddly enough it's a 4 year lease with 12,000 miles per year. I'll be over for sure. I'm going to write to Chrysler about the issue. For something that gets so little use, it shouldn't need to be fixed on my dime.

Hoping to revive this thread for some assistance. I'm having similar problems to the OP. My driver side seat will not stay on unless it's really cold (less than 10 F) and even then it's not reliable. Is it a big deal to replace the module? I'm pretty handy but I don't know how comfortable I am with re-wiring anything if necessary...

Not likely, I use my year round even when the temperature is in the 90s F as I like the heat on this old back.

I had the same problem as OP. I was told the Fuse and Relay are the same for both seats?! So it's likely something wrong with the computer. I'm taking to dealer, but would be interested to hear how other's solved this. I'll post what dealer says next week when i hear back.

Update with what the dealer found out. It was the lower and upper heating pads, they said they were defective. Covered under 3 year/36,000miles warranty, so it's being replaced.

Lesson learned: Take it to the dealer ASAP, don't wait until warranty is almost over.

2019 Cherokee

Hi y'all,

For starters I will be bringing this immediately back to the dealer in next few days. I picked up my new 2019 Cherokee Limited Thursday. I am experiencing a similar problem the heated seats (passenger and driver) will not stay on more than 18 seconds. No matter how they are turned on on UConnect through the controls or apps they will just shut right off. It seems more to me like a computer/software glitch because the seats do get warm and cannot imagine something is physically broken already 3 days old... Was unsure if anyone has found a permanent solution to this problem? Software? Part?
