Do you use the surround sound setting?

While it might sound cool sitting in the front seats, for passengers sitting in the back seats it's horrible...especially with the 9-speaker system (speakers in the columns beside their heads). A delay is added to the rear channels to give the feeling of surround sound and it is very noticeable and disconcerting from the rear seats. It actually sounds terrible.

Yeah, it's been so long since I've had that option turned on, I don't really remember. I think there was a delay and a little reverb added to the rear channels...at least on the 9-speaker system. I know when I was in the back seats with it turned on, it was awful. Probably not a big deal to those that never have passengers, but to someone actually sitting back there, it would not be pleasant.

I don’t believe the 6 speaker base system has the surround mode 😎

Oh look at me I have the 9 speaker system with Surround sound La-dy-da. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Sorry I couldn't resist.

Yes that's right I'm one of the lower cast serfs with the 6 speaker system. :)

I'm going to guess for the folks that say it doesn't sound good in the back seats, it's because you need to adjust the speakers front to back and left to right depending on where the occupant is sitting to make it sound good. Also as far as I know most music isn't created with Suround sound in mind . Or I could be totally wrong.

No, that's not how it works. The surround sound setting changes the rear channels to create a sense of spatial audio, no matter what the balance/fade is set at. It's designed around front seat occupants. Sure, if you fade it more to the front, the rear channels become less loud and therefore artificially added reverb and delay is less noticeable, but it's still there. And that just screws up the experience for the rest of the occupants.

Find someone of royalty who will allow a peasant to sit in their back seat and you can hear for yourself. ;)
