I should probably know this but shouldn't the daytime running lights be on all the time? From what I have noticed, it does not look like my daytime running lights are on while I am driving. I thought the top set of lights were DRL's.

thanks!

You can change if the DRL come on when the lights are set to the off position in the Uconnect module under apps settings.
From Page 378 in the manual (OM 3rd revision):
•
Daytime Running Lights — If Equipped

When this feature is selected, the headlights will turn on
whenever the engine is running. To make your selection,
touch the Daytime Running Lights soft-key, until a
check-mark appears next to setting, indicating that the
setting has been selected. Touch the back arrow soft-key
to return to the previous menu.

They are also not on in park when the headlights are off I think.

Just checked. My DRL's are on while driving when the head lamp switch is in the auto position. They are also on when the head lamp switch is in the park lamp position.

Hmmm...My light knob is on "auto" and soft key RDL is checked, but they are not on when driving. Another thing for the punch list in addition to my charging pad not charging.

I just noticed the same thing on our Cherokee last night.
I got in and turned on the ignition and no DRL. We don't have the auto headlight feature (tough to get used to) but the DRL had been coming on as soon as the ignition was on prior to this....whether in park or drive.
I checked the setting and it was set to come on. I reset this and tried again, no DRL still.
They are on with headlight on, so I know it's not electrical.
Guess I'll get that checked at the dealer when we get our oil changed soon. They are not required in Florida, so it's no big issue.

As I mentioned, they HAVE been from day one. This is what made me notice the difference at night. I was parked right behind my Liberty and I can always see them come on with ignition and in park. I will check if they come on in drive today when the wife gets home.
That's one of the "safety" issues I have with NOT having the auto headlight feature. At night, you will think the headlights are on...until you get used to it

Are you talking with headlights on? If so then yeah. But with headlights off they are only on in drive...4 different Cherokees Ive driven were all this way.

You will also notice, when you activate the turn signal, the DRL on the side with the flashing light will turn off until the signal is canceled. This only happens when the headlights or running lights are not on.

Well I guess both my wife and I have been driving some mystery Jeep for the last month or so....LOL.
Turns out both of us could SWEAR that the DRL's would come on right away when the engine was started. But, as we all know, they don't. Must be in drive with the parking brake off.
Good Lord. What planet have I been on?
