i hi, i bought a jeep and i noticed a crack in the tailgate, has anyone seen something like this? I don't know the car's past. can the solar roof have an impact on this?

yep was about to say the same. Looks like we have a design flaw. More than one has it. I'm curious what causes it to appear.

That panel is a stamping, that panel is cracked.

That panel is also the C post, a structural part of your car and a big part of your roll over protection.

If FCA can't prove to you the structural layers under the skin aren't cracked, then they should buy the vehicle back or replace it.

Where exactly is that on the car. The pictures are too close for me to tell?? I have not seen anything sticking out to me when loading and unloading things??

Looks like cracks in the joint filler, not the metal itself? I see the seam on mine but not any cracks.

Anyone have any idea how to repair? I live in Poland, the car comes from US Import, so I won't find out anything at my dealerships., I wonder How the jeep will respond.
Maybe some of you will try to ask?
Because looking at photos from others is quite a popular problem in cars from 2014

I have a 2020 Jeep grand Cherokee trailhawk and it has the same issue. Cracking on the rear door panels near the top.
