We have a crack that started at the bottom right passenger side of the windshield where the heating element is. It does not appear to have started by a rock chip. We contacted our dealer to order a replacement windshield and they are on back order. It made us wonder if this is a wide spread problem. Maybe it is a warrantee problem. Let us know if anyone else has had the same problem?:frown:

My 2014 TH had basically the same crack that started about a year after I bought it. The dealer looked it over, and there was no obvious impact damage, so it was replaced under warranty once approved by FCA.

I do not want to hijack your post, but I have a glass issue with my 2017 Cherokee. The drivers side window somehow got a 6 to 7 inch scratch on the outside the window. The scratch is deep enough were by a finger nail will hangup in the scratch. Still under warranty I took it back to the dealership, and they agreed that something in the door may have caused the scratch. Since the window is tinted and made of tempered glass there is no way to repair the window glass. So they ordered the window and it has been back ordered going on 5 months now. The window was due in on 24 January but the arrival date has slipped now until 7 February. I have checked with dealership weekly for updates, since getting the first Back Order notification in September. They get tired of my calling and or visiting, and frankly I dont care and am about elevate this issue if I do not have the window by 8 Feb. 2018.

Window problems

Right on you need to keep riding them until you get it. It sounds as though Jeep has a problem with windshields for the Cherokee. When we had our Compass we replaced the windshield once after 8 years. I hope we don't have to wait as long as you for a replacement. Where are you located?

Just took a double rock shot on the driver side glass heaters,......Speedy glass has 10 heated windshields in stock in Vancouver. Trying to wait out rock season before replacing it.

Our 2014 Cherokee developed a crack on the drivers side below the sight line of the hood right near the heating element. Haven't had it replaced yet. It clearly is not from an impact.

Definitely NOT with a logo. Speedy glass claim the the windshields with the Willy's logo are no longer available the OEM with logo sku is listed as discontinued. The one outlet that I talked to had done 6 or 10 this winter. Glass doctor on the other hand claims that there are up to 10 or more different skus that come up for the Cherokee. As long as the windshield's heater elements are there and work I don't mind not having a logo.

My Windshields get replaced every 2 years unless I'm lucky. The Cherokee seems to get peppered more than some other suvs. It took a repairable hit in the first two weeks off the lot and had a few pits already. There have been a lot of perimeter hits that didn't visibly break anything - and they were loud.
The Coquihalla is bad for flying rock this winter.

We had same issue with stress crack on our windshield a little over a year ago. FCA warranty would not cover it. The dealership absorbed the cost and replaced our windshield. Here we are now again with the same crack, at the same place on the windshield. FCA wants nothing to do with it. Dealership is trying to put this through the glass company who replaced it first time. Nobody wants to be accountable for this issue. This is so frustrating!
