Last night while out to dinner at a pretty popular mall in Atlanta my Jeep Cherokee was broken into. The backside passenger window was broken out. The police officer showed me where they used a pry-bar or item to pry the window which shattered it gained entry into the car to steal items from the bottom of the back of the car.
No alarms went of, no text or emails sent from Uconnect. I immediately contacted Uconnect upon seeing this as I returned to car. The UConnect rep was less than helpful and said I was probably not in a GPS zone. I explained to her I was contacting her from the Vehicle so that wasn't an option and I was in the city.
The officer explained that most car alarms are not setup with an alarm system for shattered glass. However what is the point of our system. Is there any repercussion or anything I can file with Uconnect? If they can easily gain entry through any window and that force won't set off an alarm what will?
