Wow, I didn't even look at the date.Seems like a fruitless discussion. The original question was 4 years old, not sure the reason for bothering to address it.

Re-reading my post, I see that I worded it in a way that didn't really say what I meant. What I meant was: What was the point of reviving the thread, considering the manner in which it was revived? I'm 99.9% sure the person who asked the question 4 years ago isn't still worried about it.Fruitless, maybe not.
There are still Cherokee owners that would love to put tow hooks on their vehicles. Many newer forum members have never seen the whole discussion on after market installs of Tow hooks.
They do not realize there is a slight structural bumper difference front and rear on the Trail Hawk vs the other Cherokee models.
It was an active discussion 4 years ago and can still be one today. There has been several non OEM options suggested/ and done by forum members in that time at considerably less cost than OEM install on a non Trail Hawk.
This last one I saw in this thread is not a good one, as it involved drilling 4 holes into a structural part of the frame.
I'll leave it at that.
I agree that this seems to be the most reasonable cost effective method of installing those hooks. As people have said this is an old post and probably not a safe choice to use the option mentioned with the link to it.
I wanted to put the link to an option that seems great ,and one i want to do it at some point.
