Is this possible?

The front facia of the other models differs from the trail hawk, so I don't know if the cut outs are there, but the frames of the vehicles are the same. So, if there are areas to cut out, you should be able to bolt recovery hooks onto the frame, even if it requires some extra tooling.

Ya, what he said above. I added it to mine. I haven't tested them out yet, but they seem like they would work.

I am sure they would work as they are bolted to the Frame.
But again that is the problem with this install in my opinion.
You have to drill holes into the frame, top and bottom.
That will result in a bending pressure on the frame when pulling or being pulled. That pressure will be on the top part of the Aluminum frame where the nut attaches to the bolt. It was not designed for that pressure.

That's 4 drill holes in the Aluminum frame section that is not designed to be weakened at that point.
And yes, four 1/2 inch holes in that one area will weaken the frame part substantially in my opinion.
I will not even go into warranty issues on this one let alone possible safety issues for the long haul.

Much better to install those nice red hooks where they are visible using several other solutions mentioned in this forum.
Or even better yet do it the OEM install, costly, but the correct way.
Just my humble opinion.

Seems like a fruitless discussion. The original question was 4 years old, not sure the reason for bothering to address it.

Fruitless, maybe not.
There are still Cherokee owners that would love to put tow hooks on their vehicles. Many newer forum members have never seen the whole discussion on after market installs of Tow hooks.
They do not realize there is a slight structural bumper difference front and rear on the Trail Hawk vs the other Cherokee models.
It was an active discussion 4 years ago and can still be one today. There has been several non OEM options suggested/ and done by forum members in that time at considerably less cost than OEM install on a non Trail Hawk.

This last one I saw in this thread is not a good one, as it involved drilling 4 holes into a structural part of the frame.
I'll leave it at that.

Re-reading my post, I see that I worded it in a way that didn't really say what I meant. What I meant was: What was the point of reviving the thread, considering the manner in which it was revived? I'm 99.9% sure the person who asked the question 4 years ago isn't still worried about it.

As people have said this is an old post and probably not a safe choice to use the option mentioned with the link to it.
I wanted to put the link to an option that seems great ,and one i want to do it at some point.

This might help people new to this site.
I agree that this seems to be the most reasonable cost effective method of installing those hooks.
There also seems to be a Company that is selling the same thing on the web I came across, listed below but at a much higher price.
But I do like how they look after the install.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
