Considering buying this one:
2016 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK
4 DOOR WAGON/SPORT UTILITY
3.2L V6 F DOHC 24V
FRONT WHEEL DRIVE W/ 4X4
TRIM: BLX9
47,000 km (not miles)

Car Fax report says: "Basic Warranty Original warranty estimated to have expired"
What should be the original manufacturer warranty? How to verify whether or not it has expired?
Will I be able to buy an extended manufacturer warranty from Jeep Canada?

Thanks,

Factory warranty is 3yr 36,000 mile, not kilometers, at least here in America.

when does the 3 year period start counting? From what date?
Date of original purchase. Now I'm not sure about Canada, but I'm sure it's the same, there are plenty of aftermarket extended warranties available. Maybe one of the other Canadian members can help you with that.

I think you should be able to get the same Mopar warranties in Canada as in the States. It used to be that Canada couldn't get the lifetime warranty, but they stopped offering that now, so I think the Canada/US options are the same now.

Do you think it's possible even if the car was purchased more that 3 years ago? The date of 1st sale is December 3, 2015

I can't remember exactly on the Mopar warranties, but I'm almost positive you can buy them even if the factory warranty has expired. It should say on the Mopar website. I'm sure another member will correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, there are quite a few resellers of the genuine Mopar warranties, and most of them will be cheaper that buying directly from a dealer...at least in the US. Again, hopefully some of our members from Canada will hop in and make some recommendations.

Do you have suggestions for online Mopar resellers? If not in Canada, but maybe the US?
The seller says that Jeep also has 5 years/100,000km power train warranty

Save $$ on Genuine Mopar Vehicle Protection Warranty Plan! is one that I see mentioned a lot on the forum, at least for US members.

You can also have your local dealer quote.

If this site works for you, it may explain the differences in the Mopar plans. I was lucky enough to be able to snag the Max Care Lifetime warranty before they stopped selling unlimited years/miles. I think my Lifetime warranty was about $2700US and I bought it with the $200 deductible. You can do a $100 or $0 (I think) deductible, but it drives the cost of the plan up a bit. I'm comfortable paying $200 if I have to take it in, so that just made sense to me. Official Mopar Vehicle Protection | Powered by Mopar

I used Clay and went to my dealer for a price match just as my 3/36k years was up.

Wow, I didn't even know this was a thing,... I've been so used to having to avoid the stealership as much as possible.
