Has anybody had their blower motor die on them? I have my air conditioner on and on level 7... It used to blow me out of the car, now is barely making a feather move, and is blowing variably, & very noisy, making a groaning noise.... Ugh.

I'm sorry to hear about this! Please let me know if you decide to visit the dealership for any further diagnostics.

Sorry, I missed your post from a few days ago.

That kinda sounds like what I experienced last year actually. But is wasn't a blown blower, it was a low refrigerant charge causing ice build-up on the evaporator. This caused a serious obstruction to airflow and yes, a blower that could harldy push any air into the cabin.

If you turn the A/C off, does the blower work properly ? Mine did. Dealer could not find a leak, but found the charge pressure to be low, recharged it and it's been working fine for more than a year now. If the blower still doesn't work properly after you've turned off A/C and/or allowed the Jeep to rest (engine off) for 15+ minutes, then yeah you probably have a blower motor problem.

Have you changed your cabin air filter?
In my 2014 it was real dirty after 2 years. I now change it every year.
Also as @Mark_ mentioned it could be icing. Also a poor air flow because of very dirty filter can cause icing further complicating air flow. It can also cause mold!

There are threads on this forum/you tube on how to do the filter change. I do mine now in 10 minutes.

This makes sense.... Ran my heater yesterday for about 15 minutes while I was driving, I tried all levels of blowing strength.. And it seemed fine....

Im going to stop and check the freon this week. Thx!

Yes, changed earlier this summer, and it was changed again last week at dealer while there for an oil change.. (they installed my filter for free)!

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee that’s having that same problem! I originally noticed blower motor issues within the first few months of owning it, and the dealer told me it was a cabin air filter issue...I bought it brand new....but changed the filter anyway. Then after 42,000 miles it’s completely stopping, after I’m out of warranty. The radio randomly turns very soft, and the screen shuts off too. Don’t worry there’s never a problem when they have it, and if there is there’s always a magical update that doesn’t fix a single thing.

Three-year-old thread. Are you seeking help, or just flaming your vehicle? Did you check the refrigerant level as was suggested in several of the above posts? That won’t fix a radio issue though.

I’ve replaced 9 of these on my 2015 model grand Cherokee. These Chrysler problems are made cheap but you want a Jeep you get what you pay for. I’m about to spend another 700 again soon on another one. Some last a year and some don’t.

I replaced mine. The four seasons Black colored housing blower motor for the Cherokee I got as a replacement came defective. So ended up going with a tyc model that looked near identical to the factory OEM one. It worked like it should however sucks that there was no improvement in performance. The four seasons model seemed to be much stronger n better performing, however it made a grinding sound whenever it was on, and was definitely a factory defect. Disappointed for sure.
