My dealer confirmed to me that all Canadian models come with a block heater as standard.

My Limited came with the optional Engine Block Heater, occasionally handy for winter in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. It's not very intuitive where to actually run an electric cord from an outside outlet to the block heater plug. The only way I can figure out how to connect everything is to run the Engine Block Heater cord between the hood and body. The hood appears to close properly and not crimp the Heater cord, depending on where I run the cord. Anyone know what Jeep may have had in mind about this? Jeep Customer Service as well as my dealer couldn't answer the question!

You would think they would be standard in AK also, however, it seems not since the Priced Order Confirmation shows $100 US.
My 03 Liberty came with one installed no extra charge.
They do make a difference when its sub zero!

No doubt I can run the cord from under the car. If just seems somewhat strange to have to lay on the ground and run an electric cord up through the bay. My prior vehicle was a 2011 Dodge RAM 1500 with engine block heater. The cord from the block heater would reach through the grill when needed and I just assumed the Cherokee would have something as easy.

I plug mine in and leave the connection point under the hood, and just close the hood to the first catch. The block heater cord is too short for many other options.
