Battery voltage at 13.7 when driving

Actually AGM batteries require a higher voltage to charge. It is not uncommon to see 14.5 volts while charging. The reason for the higher voltage is AGM batteries have a higher fully charged nominal voltage, 12.8 verse 12.6 for flooded batteries.
Then why do smart battery chargers for AGM batteries also charge at a lower and variable rate too? My Cherokee never charged at 14.5 volts either . Any info I have read says the opposite of what you are saying and says more amperage less voltage for AGMs
