Greetings!

I'm being sent to Atlanta, GA (and Augusta for a short while) for a work trip for about a month starting the very end of January, and will have my Trailhawk with me. I will have a fair amount of free time, and would love to go for a drive to some cool places.

Are there any places within a few hours drive that you all might recommend?

Helen, GA and the Blue Ridge Mountains and Pig Pen (http://www.pigpenfamilymudpark.com/)

If you want a running buddy during that time, give me a shout. Should have my winch and bumper installed around then.

North GA mountains are within 2 hours from Atlanta and have some nice scenery & trails. Drive up to Blue Ridge and stop in any local shop and they will give you pointers on where to go. You'll see gas is cheaper in Blue Ridge (at least on most days) too. Enjoy your visit to Atlanta and shoot me a message if you need more tips. I work in Atlanta 2 days each week and very familiar with most of the city.

Welcome from ATL! I live here, and I go camping a good bit up in the Chattahoochee National Forest. There are some pretty fun spots up around that area through the US Forest Service roads in the mountains. I usually go up to the Three Forks area at Springer Mountain -- it's the beginning of the Appalachian Trail, so there are a few service roads up there with great scenery. Also, Amicalola Falls is up in the same area as well, just about 20 miles NW of Dahlonega, GA (which is about 60 miles north of the heart of the city). I haven't taken my TH up there yet, but took my old GC up there in the spring and summer this year. Enjoy the visit!
