Hi gang. New here today. Been on other sites before, F150, Ram, Durango. Just picked up a used Cherokee yesterday for my wife and the message comes up about auto stop/battery charging. Came to this site and behold, looks like a battery problem. I'll be back!

Welcome from Michigan. From everything I’ve read in this forum, that seems to be the common variable with that issue. Had a chance to check battery status and crank strength? Hopefully something simple like battery replacment. Hope your wife otherwise can enjoy the new ride.
Thanks for the response. I find that most forums are a real good place to find solutions to the many problems faced with different vehicles. This issue seems like a quick fix but I will be a regular reader on this site now. I had an '81 full size Jeep Cherokee Laredo for 19 years. One of the best vehicles I ever owned.

Yep. Pretty close. Mine was the deep maroon colour and four doors, chrome grill and large "west coast" mirrors. Photo attached is close.
