Has anybody had a chance to try their AC yet? I ask because in both my Grand Cherokees the AC was/is poor. Barely cools at all. I turned it on in the Cherokee I sat in on a dealer's lot and it seemed pretty cold but it was -7C out at the time. No doubt my impression was influenced by the weather outside.

Ditto ventilated seats. Are they effective in cooling you? They are high on my priority list if they cool.

Oh, and is the salesman I spoke with right? The ventilated seats have perforations in the leather to let the cool air through? :)

My Cherokee Limited II has the automatic climate control. It cycles the heat and A/C on and off to maintain the temperature you set it at. It seems to work fine other than I keep it set in the mid 60s or it is too hot for me. I have a few health issues so I keep my winter jacket on in the vehicle. A lot of people in Michigan take their jackets off when driving any distance. In that case you might want to turn the temperature up a bit. The ventilated seats work fine but most people are confused in how they operate, They do not blow cool air out but instead suck warm air in through the perforated seats.

Oh my gosh, really? The seats are perforated? I thought he was wrong, none of the ones I saw had that option then. I'm imagining millions of little holes all over, is that what it's like? How does it work in cloth seats? Or is it available with cloth seats? And, it's only in the seat seat, right? Not in the seat back?

The little holes are only in the center part of the seat and back, not in the bolsters. I would say about in the same area as the heat in heated seats. They are very fine but still slightly visible. I would imagine you would need to keep the seats clean so as not to plug the little holes. Yes, it is in both the seat and back. I believe the option is only available with the leather seats. The mechanicals are in the bottom of the passenger seat so it eliminates having the passenger seat storage.

vented seats are only available on the limited lux package which comes with the leather. Correct, only available on the front seats.

This is generally what it looks like although I haven't seen them in person and this picture is not of the Jeep.

Ventilated seats are better than heated seats IMO. Your seat will warm up after a little while of sitting in the car, but the longer you stay in the car the hotter your seat and back will get in the summer. Having that breeze feels sooooooooo nice during the summer months.

The ventilated seat option only comes in the leather DL trim code. It actually sucks warm air AWAY from your body helping it cool down. It feels weird at first but in the summer it's great! It cools the lower half of your back, your buttocks and thighs. And no the fans aren't loud. Chrysler has stringent noise criteria and each fan doesn't sound louder than 45 dB and that's by themselves. Under the foam and leather trim, you should hear close to nothing.
