The whole point of an AGM is that it is able to discharge/run down a lot and not be damaged/life shortened by each succeeding event.
The wet cell auto battery will be damaged/life shortened by battery run downs over time.
The Cherokee is a computer on 4 wheels and is virtually active even in sleep mode 24/7. That uses battery power 24/7, even if ever so slightly.
Its always waiting for a signal from u-connect or the FOB and that does use energy, even if a small amount.
An AGM battery will not be impacted by this issue from run down. Run/Stop is a major contributor to this problem thus the need of a AGM.
Actually that brings up the point that maybe a more hefty charging system is needed to recharge said battery faster to avoid that run down syndrome.
But the issue of run down in the Cherokee and most modern vehicles is very real as computers take hold in all of them.
An AGM is a good idea regardless, because of this ability.
Also the greatest battery killer out there is heat next to the above issue mentioned.
