been toying w// the same idea. so I have a cpl thoughts
drill new holes in bracket to match holes in bumper cover
there should be 4 decent holes
I was thinking one could drill additional holes, perhaps 8 so that there'd be more support
chuck the license plate holder, just use the plate & light bracket
there is a small space between the bumper cover & bumper
one would have to use those short stubby license plate screws
drill pilot holes in the plastic but the diameter is important

was reading a product page, I'll include the link below
it has a bracket which is shaped to fit our bumper cover better
they supply bolts meant to go thru to the bumper w/ nuts
this is probably the best solution
I wonder if the bumper cover would look dimpled if squeezed by the bolts

I have a 2014

24" bracket

Mounting Info
16" Front Bracket will accommodate either 2 ea. 4" pod lights or a Curved Light Bar. Please note there are several different mounting types for various light bars on the market. This bracket is designed for mounting 2ea. 4" pod lights or a curved light bar in the 2 outer mounting holes as long as the mounting bracket holes on the light itself measure 12" C-C. Mounting a straight light bar will require additional modifications. This bracket mounts through your front bumper in place of OEM front license plate bracket. Mounts easily by simply re-drilling through the 4 original bracket holes into steel bumper behind plastic and mounting. Please make sure to check behind bumper for wiring harness and protect/ reposition the wires before drilling to prevent melting or damage. This bracket is deigned to be mounted with the OEM Plastic License Plate Bracket, but if you do not have one it can also be mounted without the OEM bracket by simply shimming out the license plate approx. 1/4."

looks perfect. how many bolts went thru the bumper? 2 or 4?

I see you have it covered. I would get SAE rated lights to just augment my headlights, so street legal. I was thinking 2. not sure of 2 skinny bars or 2 single or triple chip pods. I don't like flashy & I prefer blending. also leaning toward a wider bracket so the lights would be a little further from center

I like that but a cpl things, 1 that’s lower than I want them & 2 I looked in that area it’s tight. any little dinger & its in my radiator. the way I drive I need a buffer up front. don’t mind a light getting trashed but not my radiator please

oh & you know what it can’t be used w grill shutters like my 2.4 has

Ya, you're probably right about that. It's a good spot for on highway driving combo though. That 24" would be nice with four of these. I have some Squadron Pro's, but I think those are too much for the highway. These are the hookup. Two clear, and two amber, both with driving combo lenses...LOL!!!😁😎

I don't personally care for the look of a single front light bar

these caught my eye because they are street legal. pricey experiment tho
Morimoto 4Banger HXB Wide LED Pods w/mounts & switched harness $597.50

they also make a combo lens but don't think it's SAE street legal

I have lots of lights on my rig, but the bumper mounted 10” light bar from rigid, which is SAE reflector is hands down the best light option you can add, (not the Rigid but bumper mounted light).
I wired it through overhead switch and then to a good old fashioned foot dimmer switch for those back road drives.
got a link? Couldn’t find on their website. Only saw a 10” E mark which is a Europe thing

WOW!! $432 for a light bar???? Better be able to roast hot dogs with that thing. Sorry but there's no justification, in my opinion, for a light bar to cost so much. That screams to me of "Let's gouge the fanatics while we can and for as long as we can get away with it!". That's close to 10 full tank gas fill ups at approx. $45 each.
cycling lights are like that too. I've managed to find the less expensive units that still provide great light output. sometimes making my own hoods & adding diff. lenses to change/control a beam pattern. & clearly we don't all have the same budget. when I got my 1st Cherokee I was financially lucky. not sure how long my luck will hold out tho. currently driving the bottom of the barrel, a '14 sport (ewww) & trying to avoid duct tape & glue :ROFLMAO:

but I like flechtight's setup. that thin light bar looks great & fits right in w/ his whole front end

I like it, too....but, like I said, there's no justification for a simple lightbar to cost so much....
this thing really rocks. I slap it on the hood. would love it if they have an SAE driving light / fog light whatever, in a tiny slim version that I could mount on the bumper w/ the cheap bracket I bought. but on mine I think a 2-light setup would look better

but this is super inexpensive & super useful. I had to swap out the magnets for suction cups

did I already share this? I'm getting forgetful

temporary off road lightbar use

Hello everyone hope you all had a great holiday season. I got a light bar for Christmas for my Jeep but have run into a mounting problem now. Was going to use the license plate bracket to do it but that’s a no go. So figured I’d remove it and use the already made hole’s but they don’t line up. Plus I’m now wondering if them holes would even support the weight of the mount and light. So if anyone can help me with this issue I’d appreciate it. I’ve included a pic of the setup I’m using.
any luck?

in 2003 I got a cpl utility lights to mount on the back of my 4runner for camping, but never put them on. recently got a cheap bracket from amazon to play with. wasn't sure what light or lights to get, but just remembered the lights in the basement from 22 yrs ago. screwed them on & duct taped it to my license plate & bumper as a mock up. still haven't decided what if any lights I would get. it would be cool if the lens was slightly tinted, to blend w/ the front end more, in daytime, when they were not on

Are you thinking street legal, or real lights for offroad??? Figure that out, and I'll point you in the right direction, without spending a fortune...😉😁
street legal SAE DOT. was thinking "driving" only to be used w/ high beams

cuz I have those suction cup off road lights if I ever do that again. but I drive lonely highways in the dark a lot, so that's where I see an opportunity

No haven’t messed with it due to the sub arctic temp and ice/ snow we got. I have looked at a few ways to Mount it. This spring I’ll get it done I have a huge list of things to do and trying to make my way through it. Lol no aim trying to figure out how to reupholster the grey areas on my seat’s with this plaid material I found. I can work on the Jeep when it gets warmer because I can get my mustang back out of storage and park the Jeep to work on it while I drive the Stang.
I hear ya. not mission critical. I have a new set of better headlight bulbs I still haven't installed. it would help if one of the oem bulbs burned out but they aren't cooperating

We need to find you the hardware for the factory fog lights, and get you some LED fogs. Man, I would be running over everything with just halogen headlights on a dark snowy, or rainy night. Then you can get a couple extra pods for your little bracket...Let there be light!!!😁😉😎
This would be me...😳🫤🤔
again, the voice of reason
yeah, was thinking the same thing
