Already have a 7pin connector and was thinking about splicing into 7 pin wiring for backup lights, to turn on alarm. Would this load cause any electrical issues with the computer.

You could also just tap into the 4 pin, or the tail lights.

OMG, That would drive me insane!!! If I could disconnect them on my road tractors I would, but unfortunately they are required by Federal law on all commercial vehicles...😳😎

OP, to answer your question, no, it would not cause any issues with the computer. The reverse light pin produces 12v (hot) whether or not you use it.
