Hello all I'm new here and new to the Jeep world. I just purchased a 89 jeep cherokee pioneer 4.0 with 326k yesterday. Today I went to the store and it wouldn't start. Turns over but wont start. New battery and I hear the starter click over. Help me please!

Well, this is actually the KL Cherokee forum for 2014-2021. As for yours, it's sounds like a bad connection and or ground. Check all connections from the battery to the starter, and all grounds. It's probably that simple if the battery is good. Yours is easy to troubleshoot compared to ours.. LOL!!!😎

Now that is my kind of Jeep. Unscrew and clean all of the electrical connections with crocus cloth, put it back together and you should be good.
No computers, no CAN bus, love it.
Ya, such a simpler time back when an engine only required one wire to the ignition...LOL!!!😎

Yeah, that was such a great time! Horrendous emissions. Lousy fuel economy. Poor crash survivability. Engines which rarely lasted 100,000 miles. Terrible road manners. Idiot lights for almost everything. Oil constantly dripping onto your garage floor. Almost non-adjustable torture seats. Unrelenting wind noise. Yep, I remember the good old Jeep days.....
