I posted this on the UK forum as that is where I am based, however I have had no response so have copied it to the Europe forum in case anyone has any info or advice.

A ago while on holiday near Telford the MIL warning lamp came on and stayed on. Not being sure I decided to call the 24hr assist number on my mobile. I typed the number in and got the message "number not recognised"

Thinking I had typed the number wrong I tried again and again but still got the message "number not recognised" I even had my wife dictate the number to me but to no avail. Then I remembered I had the Jeep app on my phone so I used the direct call on that only to get the same message so I tried on another 2 phones but still could not get through.

Although its a freephone number it is an international number so I contacted my phone provider in case there was some restriction on my account but that turned out to be fine.

In the end I phoned the guy at Jeep Derby who sold the car to me and he kindly phoned assistance for me who then promptly phoned back. What happened from then on is a whole new story but from the point of contacting them on assist has anyone had a similar problem, I am sure there are many who have needed to call :).

The point for me is that this was midday from the hotel car park I was staying at although the hotel was quite isolated. What if it had been in the middle of no where in the middle of the night.

I have finally had it confirmed from my mobile company Tesco that their system bars the calls to the Jeep 24hr breakdown phone number. They say it's not their fault as they piggy back onto O2 network and it's O2 who are responsible. They also say that any other mobile provider that piggy backs onto O2 will have the same problem and that O2 refuse to make changes.

However a friend tells me he can call the number from his 02 mobile so it' just the piggy back networks

Has anyone else had this problem or a success in contacting Jeep Breakdown on a mobile. I suggest people try it out because they may find themselves in a problem when they least need it.
