EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I drive this 2019 Trailhawk, It is simply a blast. I know, I know....its not a wrangler, but who gives a sh*t, its a d*rn good trail worthy rig! If you are a Cherokee guy/gal, which I am too, you will not be let down with this rig. I have taken it off-road multiple times, along side the 4-6" lifted wranglers sitting on 33s and 35s, and I am still keeping up 95% of the time.

I also should point out that I have the new 2.0T engine, which I absolutely love! Ok, yes there is a bit of engine noise at times in the cabin, but seriously just turn up your favorite song off apple or android car play and you cant hear ANYTHING ELSE LOL, you just feel the torque pulling you through the gears! The skid plates do help A LOT underneath, especially since you'll be following those wranglers going through trails with 6-12" ruts!

Only additions I have done to mine thus far, 1.5" Hazard sky lift kit, THATS IT! Stock tires, rims. I've added a few pod lights but heck, those dont help on the trail unless your wheeling at night. but lets be honest, these new LED headlights are so darn bright, dont waste your money with additional lights up front, use them on the sides and rear if you get a roof rack or something.

Overall, couldn't be more satisfied with this jeep! You get the off-road technology, which by the way, is freaking awesome having the rear locker and the crawl settings to just ease your way up and down the hills. You get pretty good gas mileage IMO, along with great HP and Torque out of this 2.0T.

I’ve got both a 2018 JLUR Wrangler and a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk Elite, not to mention my wife’s 2019 Grand Cherokee. They have very different personalities. With the Wrangler (stock) it still feels like your climbing into it and driving it is always something of an event, where as the Cherokee feels much more approachable. While I’m not an experienced off-roader the Wrangler seems so much more industrial (capable) but the real question is how far would I push either vehicle. My reality is I doubt I’d attempt anything, even in the Wrangler, that the Cherokee couldn’t realistically handle.

We bought the Cherokee (and Wrangler) for my upcoming retirement, which begins in early 2021, and we’ll keep them both on St. Croix (USVI) so they will be island cars, think beaches and some unimproved roads as the major challenge, they will never be asked to do the Rubicon Trail. I’m thinking it’s just about ideal.

Like you I’m very happy with the Cherokee.

I'm looking for some consumer feedback on lifting the 2019 TH! (because I want to do it myself!) Posted in this other thread as well, but would love your feedback:
