2019 Power liftgate

Is there a way to pause the power liftgate on the 2019? This weekend I had skis on the roof racks and wanted to shove more stuff in the back of the car. I was hoping to only open the liftgate 3/4 or so way and it only seems like I can either open or close it fully with no option to pause or stop the cycle.

Yes. Just grab and open in one motion and it won't activate the motor. Normally there a slight pause from when you push the button to when it actually opens. If you open it during that period, it won't activate the motor.
