Just an FYI. I read some old posts here & the web about having a dead battery & getting hot engine temperature on the EVIC. Most of what I ran in to nobody updated to say what they found out (I hate that!). This happen on my Jeep with 24k on it last Friday.
My wife tried to start car after it sat all night in 0* temps. She called me & I figured a dead battery for obvious reasons & then backing up that thought with the world wide web search. Where's Netscape when you need it lol?. I had her call the Jeep dealership. The service guy on the phone asked my wife if it was low on coolant & she said it was a little. So he wanted her to try topping off & then see if it would start
. I got home not long after and added the 8 fluid oz the reservoir took lol, and no start. I knew how this could go down at the dealership, so I snapped pics. I then put my jump starter on the jeep & got it to fire up. Called the dealership, talked to guy and re jumped started it to get it there. Service manager said it had no codes. They had it until late Monday night. They installed a new free battery (under bumper to bumper). All is well now it appears. Hope this helps someone down the road; out of warranty especially. Make sure if jump starting and battery is low, turn off the stop start function just to be safe. That would suck otherwise.
On a side not, the wife said it wouldn't start once this past summer & I forgot what she said. But it later started after waiting a bit.
