I’ve seen on some forums here that the 3.2L can only tow 2000 lbs but I’m also seeing around 3500 lbs, which is what I thought. I’m sure someone on here knows the answer for sure. Hoping for some feedback from people who have actually towed trailers. I plan on pulling a 6x10 enclosed trailer over a reasonably long distance and want to be sure I’m not going to run into problems. Any experienced input on this would be much appreciated.

I towed a 6x10 UHaul covered trailer with my 2018 2.4L 4x4 from Chicago to Phoenix last August with zero issues. I did do a lot of manual shifting and stayed at or a few times below the speed limit (an absolute first for me), watched the trans temp and allowed extra for braking. I had the factory tow package added at the dealer but still with the 2.4 was limited out at 2k lbs. I had that trailer pretty stuffed. No idea what it weighed (not running to a weigh station) but handled with no issues. Biggest piece of advice, start out slow until you feel how it handles.

Right on. Thanks for your input. I’m confident if you could pull that off with a 2.4 then I’m golden.
