according to an AutoGuide.com editor.

I'm sure we all took in how "different" the Cherokee looks, which isn't really that much of a good thing. It's design is unlike anything we've seen from Jeep and is a step in a whole new direction for them in this segment when it comes to design, thanks to Fiat.

One of my major dislike's is the split front headlight setup, it's growing on me, but i'm not liking it as much as I wish I did....
As the Cherokee makes it's way across the nation at the various auto shows, I hope to see it in person and maybe start to see it how the AG editor does....

Now that you mention Fiat it all makes sense now. Its different from the conventional dodge type design. So european inspired. Is this where all the domestic are going with now. even Ford is starting to look euro.

The chief designer at Jeep for the Cherokee has an original version. He was interviewed about this design. He said they presented "mild to wild" versions of the exterior and the CEO ok'd the wild version. Good for them. I like the front... it works to distract that it is a "bubble SUV"

I am liking the pale stone blue color of this Cherokee and I'm glad to hear that it looks better in person. My issues with the Cherokee are not really the look of it though. I am more worried about the Cherokee actually working, and having some endurance over time. It is always scary to get the first year model of a vehicle before the company has worked out the kinks.

The only thing that I am worried about is the 9 speed transmission. This is the reason for the delay and it's got me thinking since it's very much control by software and electronic what are the chances of the tranmission failing over time because of electrial errors?

Right now they're having trouble getting the Cherokees ECU to link the engine and tranny properly for the 8th and 9th gears. Even if the software fritzes on you theres 7 other gears to work with;)

No in all seriousness I'm in the same boat as you, anyone whos ever had software issues on a PC knows software issues can be mind-numbing and messy.
